Our third trip to this lovely little cottage - though the first for a while. Nicely fitted out and equipped, and well located for St David's and the coast. Garden worked well for our dog - good to be able to let her out without worrying about her escaping.

We all enjoyed our short break, it was, literally, a breath of fresh air. We enjoyed blustery cliff top walks and The sloop Inn was excellent. The cottage was perfect for four and a dog. It's a great spot. Very nice artwork in the cottage.

Great location. The cottage had everything you need. Porthgain harbour is quaint and the Shed do the best fish and chips. Xx. Great for access to west Pembrokeshire.
Comfortable cottage in a beautiful & tranquil setting
We had an enjoyable week. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. We loved swimming at the local beach & eating fish & chips from the Shed. Would recommend.

Delightful cottage in a peaceful Pembrokeshire village
This is a lovely, well-equipped and very comfortable cottage. The hidden garden is charming and we appreciated the generous parking space - and excellent WiFi.
It’s a great base for exploring the coastal path north of St David’s - and the Presili Hills. The proximity of The Sloop and ‘The Shed’ (quite excellent fish and chips) is a real bonus.
A lovely bungalow which is very well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing self catering stay. The host, Nick, responded quickly to any questions and provided lots of very helpful information on things to do in the area. The location is in a quiet village but is an ideal base for travelling around the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside.

Just back from a 5 day stay over New Years which we thoroughly enjoyed. The cottage is comfortable and peaceful but located near to everything you need. The weather has been a bit wild with the recent storms but managed a couple of good days out with the dogs. Communication with Nick was spot on and we had no issues at all. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Had a great 3 night stay, with brucie bonus of an early check in on Friday. loved the cottage, so much charm but all the mod cons. Super cosy lounge, really comfy bed, small but perfectly formed garden and the surrounding area beautiful. Great to be able to start your walks from the cottage, we did 2 fab circular walks, courtesy of the map displayed in the cottage, even managing to navigate passed The Sloop Inn (lovely meal there Sat night also) and only a short dap to St Davids. All in all, highly recommended, thank you both :-)

Had a fabulous 4 night stay at this wonderful cottage.
It really is a home from home. Clean, surprisingly spacious and a lovely little garden.
Louise & Nick were wonderful hosts. The milk and welsh cakes they left was a very kind thought.
The decor is great and it felt very homely. The guest information was very helpful. We made it all but one of the beaches suggested.
The bed and pillows was extremely comfortable so much so I checked the make of the pillows so I can get some for home.
Great location for exploring the surrounding area and for trips to the Sloop Inn and Shed.
A great stay and we hope to return soon.

Booked this stay as we wanted to revisit the area for our anniversary with our dogs, cottage was lovely, clean and warm. It had all the items needed ie: kitchen had everything, utility room ideal for washing and drying, did not have much use of the garden as storm Burt landed, visited the Sloop, the Ship Inn, st Davids and dogs managed to have a run on the beach at White Sands.
The coments i would like to mention, steps coming down from car park area can be very slippery when wet, and also could do with a step up to door entrances both front and back doors as the step in and out was quite high. Other than that could not fault.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review Caroline, we're glad you enjoyed your stay in Llanrhian despite storm Burt.
The steps down from the car park can get slippy with leaf mulch when wet and we do warn guests about this. Thanks for the step recommendation - we'll investigate temporary/permanent options. Kind regards, Nick & Louise

Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
Disliked: Location
Poor location
On arriving to cottage what struck us how remote it is very little in the area ie the nearest shop we could find was over 5 miles away. There were lots of cobwebs throughout the property particularly on the light fittings and pictures , the bathroom light over the mirror did work either plusv no blind for the bathroom window

Thanks for flagging the bathroom light issue, we shall rectify that - hopefully just a new bulb needed. The bathroom window glass is obscured for privacy.
For the benefit of potential future guests reading this review:- The cottage is indeed located on the sparsely populated/rural North Pembrokeshire coast, roughly halfway between St Davids and Fishguard. It does get busier in summer months but even so, rarely feels crowded. If you’re looking for nightlife beyond the local pub closing hours or bustling shopping centres this really is not the part of the world for you! It’s a peaceful spot, ideal for a traditional coastal holidays with one of the best local beaches Traeth Llyfn and the coastal path just a 20min walk away.
As for local amenities, the village of Porthgain (famous Sloop Inn pub, Shed Restaurant and two art galleries) is just a 2min drive/15min walk away. The nearest shop is the well stocked mini-supermarket at the garage in Square and Compass (2miles/6min drive). St David’s (smallest city in the UK) is six miles away and has a range of shops selling clothes/local products etc.
Well we can find nothing negative to say about this holiday home - even if we wanted to !!
Equipped to the highest standard and fantastic attention to detail in terms of decor and comfort and facilties.
The beds are comfy , plenty of hot water for either bathing or showering and superbly equipped kitchen and laundry facilities which is really important if you are walking in the wet and mud .
The location is perfect too with a 15 minute walk to Porthgain where there is some excellent bar food to be had . The road from Llanrhian to Porthgain is actually very busy traffic wise but there is a public footpath through the Manor Farm yard just off the cross roads in Llanrhian which takes you down to Porthgain .
We took our two dogs and the garden was dog friendly and secure as described by the owners so no escapee issues !
We highly recommend the cottage for comfort and location particulalry if you are a keen walker .
Thank You again

Why they chose this property
We first visited this part of Pembrokshire in 2007 for a friends wedding - initially just intending to camp for a long weekend before moving on. The wedding, location and weather were all brilliant and we ended up staying for two weeks! We fell in love with the area and have come back every year since. We booked a summer holiday in Bwthyn Graig in 2016 and loved both the cottage and its location in sleepy Llanrhian, next to many of our favourite places. When the housekeeper mentioned in passing that it was on the market we started a dream that became reality 9months later! For a perfect beach day our tried and tested formula is to take the 20min walk to Traeth Llyfn, spend the day on the beach but return via Porthgain (20min walk along stunning coast path) and the inevitable refreshments at the wonderful Sloop Inn, whilst the kids burn off any energy they might have left on the famous/wonky football pitch. Hopefully they'll have some left for the 15-20min walk back to Llanrhian, following the footpath across the fields.
