The Potting Shed has comfortable sized kitchen diner, small lounge, bathroom and a double room with king sized bed on the ground floor, also an extra loo. There is a galleried twin room on the first floor which is accessed via stairs from the lounge which has a sofa bed that can sleep a fifth guest. There is a small enclosed garden on one side of the Potting shed as well as a sheltered patio which opens onto the main lawns on the South East side of the cottage.
Blue Door Cottages at Sherwood provide pleasantly quirky accommodation for couples and small families to enjoy on an individual basis but also form an ideal group for larger families and friends to enjoy each others' company while providing the space and privacy people need to really relax. Between them the cottages can easily accommodate 12 people and accommodation for groups of up to 16-18 can be arranged subject to agreement with the owners. Well behaved dogs are welcome.
The cottages, Hen House, Potting Shed, Brew House and the Wine Cellar, have been converted from out-buildings at Sherwood. The buildings are set in about five acres of a rather overgrown woodland garden, which is surrounded by fields and backs on to a valley of mature forestry commission woodland. Set on the lower slopes of the Quantocks along narrow winding lanes but only 10 minutes from Junction 24 of the M5, Sherwood is a great place to relax but also makes a wonderful base from which to explore the whole of Somerset and some of the attractions of the surrounding counties.

Superb accommodation for a long weekend house hunting in Somerset. Handy for M5.
Property admirably furnished and equipped to the point that if you arrived late, you would want for very little. Handy location and easily accessed with village nearby for essentials. Recommended!
Property was easy to book on line and it’s description was spot on. The Potting Shed is in a great location and very peaceful, a superb area for dog walking and just relaxing.
We were met by the very kind and helpful property owner who gave us the basic information with some local suggestions The property was incredibly comfortable and very tastefully decorated and furnished.
It’s rarely we give 5 Stars but the property, local area and Christine deserve the best review we can give..... well done !!
Very comfortable. Well equipped with nice touches like basic soaps etc. Very amenable hosts. Perfect for us to get away safely and wonderful we could bring our dog. A little private outside space was another bonus where she could get some air, safely enclosed. Plenty of hot water and efficient heating should you need it. Layout made it ideal for 4 although we only used the ground floor. Easy to find especially with owner’s excellent instructions. Thank you for a relaxing break.
We really enjoyed our stay here, lovely cottage set in gorgeous, quirky gardens!
They reminded me of a mix of Alice in wonderland and the Secret garden! Fabulous for exploring and having our own little private garden to sit in was an added bonus too!
A very relaxing and pretty place to spend some much needed quiet family time!
The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. It is a prefect spot for families with young children as the children can play safely in the beautiful gardens surrounding the cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We had a great few days at the Potting Shed, very snug and warm and well equipped. We arrived with storm Ciara and it was still pretty wild when we left three days later which meant we didn't get as much walking in as hoped. Can imagine it is really lovely in spring and summer with the out door space! The dog enjoyed the trip too, great having private part of the garden to let her out in. Would recommend.
My daughter and her children thoroughly enjoyed staying at christine's place. Great communication even after I confused things by making double booking! Swift and easy. Great property, spotlessly clean. Great area. Highly recommended.
