A beautiful character property ideally situated. Comfortable and relaxing. Michelle & Vince are lovely friendly people keen to ensure a great stay! We highly recommend this property!!
We sadly only stayed for a long weekend but wish it could have been longer. The cottage itself is beautiful and perfectly situated for lovely family days out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Very much enjoyed our stay at Chapel at Barn Cottage. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was well resourced and was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you!
This was our second time staying at the Chapel and it was just as we remembered it. Perfect location for exploring East Sussex and lots of room for a family. We will be back!
Wonderfully unique, great ambience. Everything you need for a self catering stay. Very comfortable beds, spacious living space with cosy inglenook fireplace with Wood burner. Safe off road parking and shops within a short drive, Pub in walking distance.
Highly recommended
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay in this accommodation, we were lucky enough to enjoy using the fireplace. The cottage was in a quiet village location with shops and a pub. The location allowed us to spend a day checking out both Hastings and Brighton Beaches. The cottage was exactly as presented in the advert. We would definitely recommend this property.
This is a lovely property! I agree with other reviewers that the pictures don’t quite do it justice. Beds are comfy with good quality linens. We loved the tiny secret garden which is a real sun trap! We stayed for three nights as we were attending two performances at Glyndebourne - a half hour drive away.
There are some good pubs and walks in the area and we would recommend a visit to the Hidden Spring Vineyard.
We would highly recommend.
Quaint chapel and great location for exploring East Sussex
We loved our stay at the Chapel. There was lots of room for our family of three and the location is great for exploring East Sussex. We will definitely stay here again when we return.
Lovely venue renovated with a lot of taste and very comfortable.
We spent a couple of nights in the chapel as we were going to a performance in Glyndebourne. It was a very nice experience and we were all very happy with the location, comfort of the house. Michelle is very nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Nice cup of tea and biscuits, were amazing!
Parking was interesting! Local pub and location were good
A lovely place to stay and well placed for exploring the surrounding area, including easy access to Cuckoo Trail. Heathfield nearby has plenty of shops, including Sainsbury's, Waitrose, an excellent deli (Cuculo) and very good fish and chips (Nemo). The Chapel has a well equipped kitchen, good sized shower room and toilet and nice, airy bedrooms. The living room, in the main well of the building, is stunning. Michelle was very helpful whenever we had something to ask.
Lovely cottage. Very near the Cuckoo Trail and easy access to Eastbourne, Seven Sisters etc. Nice pubs in the area. Place equipped with everything you could need. Thank you.
A spacious, immaculate cottage well placed for Glyndebourne. The road is a bit noisy with the windows open, but fine otherwise. Hosts very helpful, great stay. Would recommend this strongly
Perfect cottage get away from city life. Lovely open fire and we had some wonderful day trips to Eastbourne and beachy head (thanks to great selection of brochures on local areas of interest!) Highly recommend.
Fantastic escape from London in beautiful accommodation!
Thank you so much! We could not have asked for a more comfortable and beautiful place to stay for the weekend! It had everything we could ever need for a weekend and we loved the ‘secret garden’ too! Thank you! We will be recommending to our friends! Jonny and Geanie

About the host
Hosted by Michelle Lee
Having had a long corporate career, I decided to spend more time with the people I love in the place I love, home, here in beautiful East Sussex. Having moved to this fabulous house in 2017 it allowed us to open the Chapel to guests.
I now spend my days running cookery classes from my own kitchen, and lovingly preparing the Chapel for guests like you!
Why they chose this property
Maynards Green is a great base to visit all that the Kent and Sussex countryside has to offer including 1066 country, local beaches, many national trust properties, including Birling Gap, Batemans and so much more.
Alternatively you may choose just to relax in the comfortably, cosy surroundings.
The Chapel does have 2 sets or stairs so may not be suitable for the less active.
What makes this property unique
The property dates back to the 15th Century and has all the charm of the era coupled with modern day luxuries that you deserve when you are away.
The house has a fully fitted kitchen, complete with full sized fridge, induction hob, electric oven, and microwave.
There is central heating throughout along with a wood burning fire for cosy days and nights in.
