The rear deck has a gas grill, outdoor dining space, and a screened porch. There are two Juliette decks upstairs that offer additional outdoor areas.
The main floor offers an open-concept living room, dining area, kitchen, hardwood floors, and tongue and groove ceilings with exposed beams. The kitchen features granite countertops with an oversized farm-style sink and stainless appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining area with a banquet-style table that seats 8 guests. There is also a 4-seat table for additional accommodations. The living room has a gas log fireplace, a Samsung SmartTV, a BluRay DVD player, and high-speed satellite internet, allowing WIFI throughout the home and giving you the option to log into your streaming accounts. This home also has DirectTV.
The main floor primary suite offers a king bed, hardwood floors, his and her closets, a comfy chaise lounge, an HDTV, and a huge picture window that lets in lots of natural sunlight. The ensuite bathroom boasts an oversized tile shower and double vanity. The second bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed, an HDTV, and private access to the rear deck. Next to the queen bedroom is a full bathroom with a tub and shower. This bathroom is also central and convenient to the rest of the main floor.
At the top of the stairs is a game room/loft with a seven-foot custom-made pool table and a large-screen HDTV. An open-air Juliette deck off the loft overlooks the backyard. There is a full bathroom with a tiled shower upstairs. One of the two bedrooms upstairs offers 2 full beds, each with a twin trundle for additional sleeping options. This bedroom has a television and a large covered Juliette deck overlooking the front yard. The other upstairs bedroom has 4 twin beds with a queen-sized sleeper sofa, all in front of a large HDTV, BluRay/DVD, and Nintendo Wii. *Allows pets with an additional fee.

Perfect cabin for our family vacation with 9 people! Clean, easy to get to/close to Boone and blowing rock, and easy to communicate with rental company. Highly recommend!
We are so grateful for your feedback and are thrilled that you enjoyed the home and that your stay was a great one. We are so looking forward to welcoming you back again soon!
This place was nice because it was close to our wedding
I put my friends up in this house which was walking distance to the house we had our wedding

The house was cute & cozy with lots of sleeping space. The yard had plenty of room for our grandchildren to play, & the screened in porch & outdoor fireplace were great features. The updated bathrooms were very nice. We enjoyed our stay and hope to stay there again in the future. A porch swing and two more rockers on the front porch along with a hot tub would make Seven Up even more perfect.
Pros - good location, Easy to get to Boone and Blowing Rock from house
Cons - mattresses were dirty and internet speeds are not sufficient

Perfect Place to Unwind
We went as a family of 11, ranging from 66 to 6! What a special place to make lasting memories as a family. This is our second year staying at this cabin. We hope to be there again in 2021. We have rented several cabins in years past. This is the cleanest and most accommodating place we have stayed. We loved the patriotic decor the new owners have added. Only thing I would recommend is decorations for the Christmas season. Love, love, love this time together in this warm cabin.

Upon our arrival, the door code did not allow us entry. Multiple attempts were made to contact customer service. Approximately 45-60 minutes, I received a call from customer service. A second code to the door did not work. A third code was given, it did not work either, however, another person in our party used the last code to gain entry to the key box. That allowed us to use a physical key to gain entry. Upon entering the house, we found it to be accurately described from the VRBO site. This is where I incurred the next problem. The WiFi network that was listed in my arrival instructions was not able to be located. Another call back to customer service, which took approximately 30 minutes to speak to a representative. When speaking with the representative, he did not listen to my description of the problem. I informed him that the WiFi network did not appear on any of the smart TVs or my phone. He reply was to unplug and restart the router. I attempted again to tell him what the problem was, but he chose to talk over me. This was extremely frustrating. Eventually, I was told a maintenance worker would be at the property the next day. The next day, as promised; a maintenance worker arrived and corrected the problem with the door code. However, he could correct the problem with the WiFi. It should be noted there is very limited cellular reception at the property. Additionally, my son was unable to complete his homework, due to a lack of WiFi network
The group enjoyed ours staying there, though it was a rainy weekend. The cabin was nice and clean inside as well. We were a little nervous about the road, but it was okay since there was no snow. The two problems we had was the wifi, a bit unstable even after we reset it. Also, the room upstairs with a double bed was cold, and you could feel the wind blowing thru the window; we had to move on the second night.
Overall, everything is good, fast response, and good management.
The location of the home is ideal, and it’s just a short walk from the home to an amazing mountain view. Despite some hiccups with the wifi, the property manager went above and beyond to resolve our issues, and we were especially grateful knowing that our stay was during the holidays.
The cabin was beautiful inside and out but there was no trash bags and one bathroom did not have hand soap. Also the grill propane tank was stuck on close so we were not able to grill some burgers like planned. Other than these minor things we had a great stay! The customer service was great! We arrived about 6pm and had issues opening the door but the rental company answered and helped us immediately.
The house was a great fit for what we needed. There were 12 adult guys and we each had our own bed. The house has internet as well as direct TV and is was close to all that we needed. The house could use some updating and maybe a little more detailed cleaning but for us it was a great fit for a short stay.

Average stay
The stay was fine but these 3 issues made our stay not so good :-
1. Cleanliness was not up to the mark
2. There was no way to communicate with the property owner even when we had an issue with car getting stuck on slope to the house
My two sons and four granddaughters celebrated Christmas in July. We were unable to get together for any holidays this past year so I planned a holiday for my sons, their 2 college students and two upcoming high school students.
We loved the layout and all the living spaces.
The 4 twin beds in the girls room need to be replaced with new mattresses as the ones there are worn out. New cooking pans also need to be replaced.
I would recommend this place for its beauty and location. Bring your own pots.
Convenient location between Boone and Blowing Rock. There is not a mountain view but with a dog and small children we were thankful for minimal stairs and the large yard to play in. Secluded down somewhat overgrown driveway so very private and quiet. Tastefully decorated. Only complaint with cleanliness was everything was pretty significantly dusty, blinds, fans, furniture, lamps etc.
We went to the cabin for a weekend getaway with family and friends, and we had a great time! The cabin looked just as the pictures advertised. Tons of room and beds for small children and bigger adults. Check-in and out was easy. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we just went down the road for groceries. The refrigerator leaked some but nothing terrible. My only suggestion is if you plan on visiting, bring a flashlight. The fire pit is beautiful, but there are no lights out there to guide your steps and the path is rocky.
The house and surrounding area are beautiful! The yard was great for the kids to play and explore. We also took a scenic walk around the loop. Beds and sitting areas were comfortable. Kitchen was alright, but we did not do much cooking.
Overall the house was clean, however for a rental property I would encourage the owners to require a slightly more thorough cleaning. Specifically under the shelves in the kitchen, under the beds, etc. We had a baby with us who gets into everything...otherwise we never would have noticed.
We loved our time at Punky’s Place and would certainly consider staying here again!!
We were disappointed that the screened porch was not heated as advertised. We had chosen this property with Covid in mind because that would hello us stay socially distanced. Without the heat, it was not warm enough to use. We also counted on the picnic table at the fire Pit, but it was not there.
Wet contacted the property manager, but he never called us back.
