Property is in a great location, safe, with views and short walk (downhill) to the BART stop and Trader Joes. But the bathroom wasn't cleaned when we arrived. At least there were lysol wipes available to do our own cleaning. The kitchen appliances, dishes, pans, etc were grimy, definitely hadn't been cleaned. The pans were limited and poor quality. The oven was tiny and dirty, really unusable. Outside the grill was clean and full propane, thankfully we had planned on lots of grilling. Overall a lack of cleanliness detracted from what was otherwise a nice home in a great location. We made the best of it.

Dan, I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay, but no need to fabricate and knit pick things to complain about publicly. I do all of the cleaning of both the interior and exterior myself and it takes about 16 hours per stay. The kitchen and bathroom are mopped and cleaned thoroughly each time. The bathroom and stove are “vintage” which should not be confused with dirty. Many 20 pound turkeys have been cooked in that “small” oven; and most of the pots and pans were just purchased within the last 6 months. I’m sorry they weren’t up to your standards. The other tenants who made me a 9 time superhost didn’t seem to mind. Thanks for leaving the grille a complete disaster and redecorating.

Scott's house was a comfortable spot for us to spend a couple days in the east bay with friends. Great location, the kids loved the basket ball hoop in the garden and the bunk beds. we look forward to visiting again!

Charming, comfortable and spacious

We really enjoyed staying here and agree with all of the previous reviewers' comments. The bunk beds are actually quite wide and comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and immaculate. The location is great, though be prepared to walk up a steep hill ... the views are worth it! Thank you, Scott for being a great host. Hope to come back someday.

Prime location in upscale and very quiet neighborhood was the best place to stay for a college graduation. Well-appointed private home included everything we needed for a quick getaway. Our hosts provided everything we needed in advance and on-site, and were reachable for any last-minute questions. Would definitely stay here again.

Simply the best location in the East Bay and we were just in the right place at the right time in 2000.

What makes this property unique

SF Bay and garden views, yet convenient to everything! There are no side fences between the adjacent properties which creates a bit of a park like setting in the back yard. Best neighborhood walking score.
