We all need something to look forward to ....
SummerSalt is the perfect spot to have a Topsail Island vacation! We repeatedly have guests tell us and leave reviews saying that SummerSalt is "the cleanest VRBO house we have ever stayed in" and now we know our guests value that even more with COVID19.

We have worked to make this home ready for your arrival with tasteful, clean decor and ample opportunities to do all of your favorite beach activities. Make memories while you enjoy the sun, swimming, surfing, search for shells, or just relax with your family and friends. SummerSalt offers views of the ocean with a quiet, convenient beach access just a few yards away.

Start your day with your morning coffee on the large front deck as the sun rises over the ocean. Then walk to the beach for a day of collecting shells, jumping the waves and building your very own sand creation. Then return to SummerSalt for more outdoor pleasures by lounging in your private pool with a large tanning ledge. And don't miss your chance to shower outside in a private shower with the smell of salty air. There's an outdoor gas grill in the backyard for your cooking pleasure or you could pick up some yummy seafood from a local restaurant!

SummerSalt has a fully-equipped kitchen, digital cable television, 4 flat screen televisions, high-speed wireless internet access, and many other amenities! SummerSalt is a family-friendly house with puzzles, cards, games and books available for all ages. We work to make sure you arrive with nothing to worry about. Linens are provided, beds are made, and we have some basic essentials in the cabinets so all you have to shop for is food and beverages. We take great pride in preparing the house for each guest so your arrival is abundantly pleasant and you can leave all your worries behind.

For anyone not familiar with Topsail Island and Surf City, we'll be happy to answer any questions and help you find interesting things to do. It's a quaint little beach town with something for everyone. There are golf courses nearby, jet ski and boat rentals, opportunities to learn about marine life, fishing, equipment rentals (surfboards, bikes, kayaks), shopping, craft markets, worship services, exercise classes, and more.

Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Fold quilts and stack them on the bed with pillows in shams. Do not remove shams from the pillows, only sheets.
If you have moved furniture around, please return to original place.
Rinse off beach toys, chairs and other sandy things. If needed, leave them to dry near one of the water hoses, front yard or back yard.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No glass near the pool.

This rental was perfect for my cousin reunion! Spacious, clean, organized, and had all the amenities we needed - and was so close to the beach! The owner was very communicative and responsive. I will say the kitchen was on the smaller side, but if you're not planning on cooking/eating at home much, it's a good size. 10/10, would highly recommend if you're looking for a place to stay in Surf City, especially if you have a large group!

We had a very pleasant stay at the Summer Salt - The property was very well supplied with essentials for any activity from cooking to boogie boarding. The pool was a tremedous asset to help with coping with the heat. It provided a safe water experience for our 1 and 4 year old grandchildren.We had a wonderful week of relaxation and fun.

Great Family get away!!!

This was the second time we stayed here and again we are so happy we did! The house has everything you need including bunk beds witch my kids loved. The pool is amazing. The house is located very close to a beach access and close to the shops and restaurants but far enough away you don't have to deal with any noise from them. The owners are amazing and extremely nice and helpful with anything you need.

Wonderful Family Experience

The Surf City property was clean, family friendly, and amazing. The proximity to the beach access was convenient and the kids enjoyed a lowkey afternoon and evening swim in the pool after spending the day on the beach. The property owners were great to deal with and we have already booked our stay next year.

This was one of the best family vacations!! The house and the pool were absolutely wonderful and the short walk to the beach was also a plus! The property was just as described in the website and more. Lots of little personal touches and very nice linens. Far enough from the main hub of Surf City to seem secluded but close enough for a nice evening walk for a meal or ice cream. July 2024 Visit

This is our second time staying here and we will continue to always stay here when visiting Topsail Island. The house is very close to the beach and walking distance to town. All six of us loved the backyard and pool. The house and outdoor beach closet is very well stocked. Trudy is very responsive and wonderful to rent from.

We are always looking for ways to improve this property and helping others find the beauty of Topsail Island, the marine life, and the pleasure of enjoying this magnificent place we get to call home.

Why they chose this property

South Shore Drive between the pier and the S-curve is the perfect location. It's close to everything but it's not a high-traffic road. This area is an easy place to enjoy walking, biking and being out and about. SummerSalt provides you with such an EASY vacation, with access to water, sand, and fun. You will feel like it's your home away from home, not just another rental.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this home because of the large but secluded backyard. It was the perfect place to install a pool, add a large deck and enclose a hot/cold outside shower. We loved updating the interior of the home, making clean and simple decorating choices while we provided the amenities that we've all come to count on. And the location is perfect - a quiet street that gives you the ability to safely walk or bike wherever you'd like to explore. There are plenty of businesses in less than one mile and a nice park too, with access to the Intracoastal Waterway, or what we call "the other side of the island." This property is truly a gem, with comfortable indoor living space but terrific outdoor living spaces too!
