Kona Retreat 2.7 Secluded Acres - Close to Old Hawaii, Beach & Shopping!
Nestled on the slopes of Hualalai, the Keauhou Hideaway is a private retreat on 2.7 acres of lush tropical vegetation. The 800' elevation affords a spectacular view of the Kona coastline and ensures warm, sunny days and cool nights.
Renovated last in 2012, the Hideaway has 3 separate bedrooms and a fourth main building (kitchen dining and living room) which link to create a delightful courtyard.
The tranquil grounds are home to mango, avocado, fig, papaya and citrus trees. In addition, passion fruit vines, bananas, herbs and more await your discovery!
Java sparrows, doves, finches, cardinals, and canaries wake you with their song. If wild seed is available at their feeding area, you will experience a real treat.
As owners, we travel here periodically to escape from rainy Oregon.
We think this place is magic, please treat it with respect.
Much Aloha!
(Note: Owners' studio to the east of the main building is not included in the rental. This buiding is not occupied when the property is rented.)

Within 20 minutes of shops and the beach, but far enough away from the bustle of the crowds. So quiet, such amazing views, perfect for families and friends. Everything was absolutely perfect there - even the frogs at night.Than you for making our first time in Kona so incredible.
The property was lovely and very Zen like. We enjoyed the gardens, vast expanse of views to the ocean and all the tropical trees and plants. The privacy was very special too.

We love this house - it’s our third time staying here!! It is perfect for our three couples and it is well appointed. But it’s the views which keep us coming back. We look forward to booking our fourth trip to this home!!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
The property was wonderful and the kitchen well stocked. So enjoyed roaming the garden and picking fresh fruit and vegetables for our use. The view was amazing and being able to watch the whales always a bonus. Easy access to some great beaches! As stated in another reply the communication regarding check in needs correction.
We had such an amazing time staying here and would definitely come back. The house is spacious and clean, the pool and hot tub were perfect and the view was incredible. The owner was very prompt and responsive. Thank you!
The property was beautiful, the gardens were lovely, fruit, trees, flowers everywhere. Swimming pool, very nice and clean, solar heated, Jacuzzi could use a little cleanup or at least some bromine to keep it clean while visiting. Plenty of amenities, we will go back.

We love that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again!
Beautiful views with comfortable accommodations, but a bit dingy
Overall our stay was quite lovely. Although the place was not as clean as I would have liked, we would stay here again.

We at the Keauhou Hideaway take great care to have the place not only clean and inviting upon our guests arrival but we make sure we do a last minute walk through just before our guests check in. I personally went through the entire place to insure it was up to our standards and our standards are high. The guest quarters are an old structure and like most wooden buildings on island experience termite damage. We have the Hideaway professionally
treated for all kinds of things that come our way living here in the tropics. We will continue to provide a clean environment to spend your vacations at.

Came here with family and had a great stay. The privacy is awesome and it is still close to lots of restaurants and shopping. The pool is a big plus, and I would love to stay here again.

This is such a lovely property! Can’t even touch how beautiful and relaxing in photos. Wonderful hosts and great spot for our multi generational family stay. Thank you
Great place for our family of four. The view cannot be beat and the layout of the house was very fun — everyone had a lot of privacy and space. Well stocked with beach equipment and pool toys. Only a short drive to great snorkeling, good restaurants and lots of shops. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We loved our second stay here! The setup and location of this home is perfect. We had three couples and the separate bedrooms work perfectly and the shared space was great, but our favorite part is the view and outdoor area - it’s such a perfect place to sit and enjoy. We plan on coming back again because we love this place so much!
Property was described well. Everything was great, functional, and enjoyable. Would highly recommend. Very quiet and peaceful.

We live in Portland, Oregon most of the year, but love to escape to Kona during the mainland rainy season.. We love to share this unique, natural and magical space with our guests!
Why they chose this property
We chose this property for it's tranquil setting, view and climate - which is awesome at this elevation. The surrounding neighborhood has a laid-back feel, with coffee growers on the hill, even a chocolate 'factory' nearby. And, if you get your fill of peace and relaxation, 'Civilization' is only a few minutes away...
What makes this property unique
The Hideaway offers plenty of privacy, while still close and convenient to all amenities. Some of our guests compare it to staying at their own private spa retreat!
The main house (with it's 3 separate cabana/bedrooms - each with it's own full bed & bath), surround a beautiful courtyard.
On the surrounding grounds, we encourage our guests to explore the variety of lush foliage, flowers and trees. Retrieve ripe, available papaya, lime, and other fruits for a delicious tropical breakfast!
If you enjoyed the movie, 'Enchanted April', we think you'll love the Hideaway...
