Again, We are set up to very comfortably accommodate 10 adults with 2-6 children, or 12 adults. Isle of Palms now strictly enforces their CODES which limit the number of guests in all rentals. We may only exceed 16 guests for children 2 years or younger. Guests risk a fine for violating Codes. We now have a golf cart available for use by licensed drivers only, with signed waver! We pay a Professional Cleaning Company MORE than what is charged here to do the most thorough job possible. Sometimes mistakes are made. Previous guests put poorly washed utensils, glasses, etc away in cabinets, spill makeup in a closed bedroom drawer, stain multiple things. Kids leave creative things in hidden spots,... M&M Cleaning does a great job, and will come back to correct reasonable complaints. (We've had 8 cleaning companies in our 22 years renting by owner. 3 closed. 4 were fired. Their business is tougher than ours.) The outdoor areas are cleaned regularly, but not in between every weekly Summer use and will likely have sand and dirt, etc, just like a yard or any outdoor area. Grill will have a gas tank, but it is possible you will need to get a refill and/or your own charcoal. We Highly recommend Charleston Place, the Mills House, the Dewberry Charleston, Wentworth Mansion, (and more if you ask) for white glove, daily, full staff service. Bed linens and bath towels can be provided. Sheets and towels are certainly guaranteed clean, but not free from small product stains. You may rent linens from a service if preferred, or bring your own. (Please note: there is a separate main floor master Suite NOT available for rental that will be locked off and empty for your stay, and is Not part of the 6BR/ 4.75BA . and-We also have a small oceanfront condo that sleeps up to 5 - 3/4 of a mile up the beach for small groups or additional guests, listing here is 116783. Ask about great rates and availability.) Private chef services are available. Ask for more info. Also note: We provide a limited amount of start-up paper goods, soaps, etc. Our cleaners provide quality basic linens. Some guests prefer to bring their own for maximum comfort. Extras are also available for rent from our cleaning service, or several independent ones in the area. The full deposit will be returned if a CANCELLATION is made 90 days prior to April - Labor Day reservations. 50% will be refunded for a cancellation 45-90 days prior. 100% minus $100 handling fee will be refunded in any case, if the spot can be filled after cancellation. Off season and last minute rentals are 60/30-60 and 100%-$100 If filled. A serious threat of hurricane (actual Hurricane Warnings for the Charleston area in the next 72 hours) would constitute a 100% refund. Guests, and guests of guests, are NOT allowed to have or bring Firearms in or on this property, excepting water-guns. It is standard practice to have guests empty trash upon leaving, as they may have stinky stuff (diapers, seafood, shells...) which permeates the place when not cleaned for hours, or occasionally the next day.

The home was 100% of the website description. Great location, very spacious, beautiful oceanfront views, with a convenient golf cart included. Our three-generation family had a wonderful time.

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
The view was beautiful. It was great to be close to the beach. We had trouble with the front door. It was hard to turn the knob to get it open. The toilet in the main level master kept running after flushing. My husband had to fix several times. We didn’t get to use the golf cart u til the last day. The tvs in some rooms did not work. A great location.

The front door is 4' x 8' solid mahogany we commissioned a specialty carpenter to make. It's so heavy that it can be a challenge. Thank you for letting me know here that the master suite toilet is running. Our plumber is on the way. Guests let me know 4pm the 2nd of 3 days that cart wasn't working. We had repair guy their next morning 11am, and he left a cart we rented from him for guests to use. We have smart TVs in all rooms. For no known reason, previous guests had unplugged one BR TV, leaving it seemingly broken, but not, and requiring a full boot up. Repaired.
We had a great time on our vacation! We loved the large table in the kitchen for big group meals, and the screened-in porch for evening games. The house was so close to the beach that it was simple to take things down to get set up and pop back up for a snack. The couches by the big window were a big hit for morning reading or after beach naps. We just loved the house!
Built and furnished in the old style of beach houses of SI and IOP, this Ocean Blvd. beach house was perfect for our needs. It was warm and cozy, with the most amazing beach and ocean view imaginable. It felt like a lived-in home. The owner provided toys and games for the kids and a golf cart for the adults. A great perk for the older set was an elevator. The furniture was comfortable and inviting. We would definitely enjoy staying here again.

Wonderful property- the view from the downstairs seating area is stunning. It’s just a short walk to a beautiful beach with gentle waves and warm water. A perfect spot for small children. The house has a vintage charm with adequate seating and a big enough dining room table to accommodate 12-14 people. The screened in back porch is a great place to hang out. The golf cart was fun if a bit rusted. It is just a mile walk to a downtown coffee shop. The upstairs bedrooms were a bit dated but comfortable. Our host was very responsive. I would stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home. The views are fantastic. Having the chairs and beach toys available was an added plus. The house is so close to everything and having the golf cart was very convenient for quick trips to Sea Biscuit restaurant. There was plenty of room for our group.
We had a wonderful stay in IOP and this house was perfect for our families to relax and recharge. The house is well stocked and it was an extra bonus to have the golf cart! The views are beautiful and it’s a great location. Susan was also very helpful throughout the booking process and during our stay. I would definitely recommend a stay here for families and friends!
We had a great stay at this house… it’s a little quirky but in a comfortable and comforting way - old school. The proximity to the beach is unbeatable, a Harris Teeter a mile away, easy drive to downtown Charleston. We loved the big giant dining table, and the comfy couches. Very handy having two fridges, and there was plenty of hot water, good water pressure.

Appreciate it. Truly thank you. This is for potential future guests: Please do not rent from us without reading the Entire description! And, making sure ALL of your party do as well. It was clear from day 1 that expectations existed that do not exist in our description. The bottom line is: Your group may have agreed to: "Let's rent a Beachfront, 6BR, IOP, SC,..." yet have assumed multiple other wishes were met, like "hot tub" (we do have 2 jacuzzi tubs) which is nowhere mentioned. We have been on VRBO since 2001. Making sure ALL of your group have read the full description of the actual home (rented for $7000 less than one which has all that you wanted) is KEY to your enjoyment and our ability to provide such. I would want what I was expecting also.
GREAT location on IOP! The owner/manager is extremely responsive and helpful!
Beautiful beach home that appears to be much older than it is, which translates into charm. My only negative would be that none of the bathroom are "ensuite" and all but one are small.

Thanks for your great review : ) The master on main floor is en suite, but I agree only 1 bathroom is large. We are 3 daughters, each with an oceanfront view and access to top deck. Ensuites would have bumped one of us to roadside : )
We had a lovely time in Isle of Palm! The house’s location is perfect!! Right on the beach (highly recommend ordering chairs and umbrellas, they were set up and made for easy beach going) and close to restaurants. We had a great girls weekend here and everyone was more than comfortable. Communication was easy, as was check in and out. Would highly recommend!!
We had a wonderful time at this lovely house right on the beach. The beach is terrific, the views from the house are just stunning, and the location is close to everything. The house was well equipped inside and out. The property owner made us feel very welcome and addressed any issues immediately. We would highly recommend this house for a family vacation. We will be back!

About the host
Hosted by Susan Player Verbsky
My name is Susan Player Verbsky; a wife and mother by God's Grace, a Psychotherapist by training, with a small practice here for 25+ years, and a Real Estate investment and management specialist by design for the same time period. I enjoy the great intangible rewards of Therapy, and, equally, the tangible rewards of developing a property and working with people planning vacation time.
Why they chose this property
Our parents bought this lot, and our whole family collaborated with Beau Clowney Architectural Design to build this house, after many years of family trips renting homes up and down the Carolina Coast. We choose this spot in Charleston, our family's Maternal home, on IOP for its exceptionally beautiful and safe beach, proximity to ocean, and as well to all that Charleston has to offer. We then endeavored to incorporate all of the do's and dont's we learned in the many beachfront homes we had rented. * Small groups and families may want to look at our small 5 max persons beachfront condo 2/3 mile up the beach.
What makes this property unique
As mentioned previously, this home is designed for a large gathering of family and/or friends to enjoy each other, enjoy privacy when desired, enjoy amazing views from almost every room, enjoy the best beach, and enjoy Charleston when you can tear yourself away. I am from this area, and live less than 7 miles away, so I am hands-on. We are in a residential area, so all good for fun and refreshments, but if you're looking for a total party house, please continue : )
