Renovated, next to ski resort, access private beach 3min away

We take cleanliness and the condition of our home very seriously as you can see from the reviews on this site and others. We’re disappointed to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations so we took the effort to investigate with our cleaning team and only found mention of a few clean towels left in the dryer. After this stay, however, they did report an unusually extensive amount of cleaning beyond the normal turnover, including heavily soiled carpeting and bedding as well as damage to a handle on an owners-only closet. Additional time was also spent returning furniture and other items, including a TV moved from the loft to a downstairs bedroom, to their original locations. Our house rules state that guests are responsible for returning moved furniture and that additional charges may apply if our cleaning team must do so. This was the third time in hundreds of cleanings that our cleaning team has requested an additional cleaning fee, which is why that charge was assessed, a rarity over a decade of offering our home to renters. Our listing does not advertise air conditioning which tends to be the norm for Tahoe properties. But we provide ceiling fans and have the bedrooms located on the lower level to help keep the sleeping areas comfortable as it always cools at night. We understand, however, that guests coming from areas where AC is standard may not realize this unless they specifically look for it, and we’ll consider making that information even more prominent. Regarding the loft, there are no beds advertised in that area so we're not sure why you assumed you could sleep there. The sleeping accommodations listed are clearly for the bedrooms and the sofa bed in the living room. Because the loft does not have an approved means of egress for sleeping, we specifically notify guests that it should not be used as a sleeping area. This is a safety requirement rather than a restriction we impose after arrival. We appreciate feedback about cobwebs, carpet condition, and maintenance items and will continue to keep our cleaners and maintenance team focused on them. Our goal is for every guest to arrive to a clean, well-maintained home and to have a clear understanding of the property and its amenities before arrival. We are very sorry our house did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide an enjoyable stay for our guests. This includes cleaning and ongoing updates. Our carpet - including the carpeted shower area in the master bedroom (the sanitary area being hard-floor) - gets thoroughly vacuumed after each stay and regularly shampooed by our cleaners, and professionally steamed twice a year. The latter was supposed to happen on 9/2 right before your arrival to remove some stubborn stains our cleaners' machine could not handle but postponed to 9/8 by the vendor. So while the carpet being as light as it is had some stains at the entrance of the bedroom, it is being actively cleaned and maintained. This being said, we take feedback seriously and will investigate with our team on further measures we can take.
