Very nice studio, clean, great kitchenette, well stocked for cooking, the host provides breakfast items and a loaf of bread. It has a coffee machine with ample pods for specialty coffees. The host Alan is available on site to answer questions about Skye. Easy level walk to Portree. Would recommend.

Lovely, well-located place to stay

This was a wonderful stay, with great directions from Alan, extensive welcome snacks and so forth in a clean, well-designed space. Parking is easy, walking in to the center of Portree also very simple. Alan had many siggestions for what to do and lots of maps and brochures available to help with decision making. I would most definitely stay here again!

What a lovely place Alan has in Portree. Perfect fo two Alan has thought of many extras to make your stay as comfortable and relaxed as possible. We explored alot of the island from this base and had pubs and restaurants within easy reach.

Lovely place to stay

We traveled with our daughter, who stayed in the Portree Youth Hostel. The location of the Pipers Hut was fabulous for walkjng both to the town centre and to the hostel. Alan and Megan were wonderful hosts and the studio was perfect. We only wish we had stayed for a couple more days.

This property is priceless !

This property is outstanding. Alan and Megan are perfect hosts and nothing is short of excellence. Situated in the town of Portree everything is in walkable distance. The self contained apartment is 5 Star and exudes quality. Personal touches and small luxuries are thoughtful and welcomed. Book early for this one to avoid disappointment.

Wunderschöne, bestens ausgestattete Ferienwohnung in zentraler Lage

Parken direkt vor der Tür, unkomplizierter check in. Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt, es ist grösser als es auf den Bildern scheint. Sehr komfortabel, alles tip top sauber , grosse Dusche. Küche mit Kühlschrank, Herdplatten und Mikrowelle . Es stand sogar Butter, Marmelade, Käse und vieles mehr bei unserer Ankunft bereit . Alan ist ein sehr liebenswerter Gastgeber. Er hat uns wertvolle Tipps für unsere Ausflüge gegeben. Die Betten sind sehr komfortabel. Es sind nur ein paar Minuten Fussweg bis vom Zentrum. Wir hatten eine erholsamen und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt im Pipers hut. Wir wollen auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und länger als 4 Nächte bleiben.

Best honeymoon stop!

Me and my wife have travelled the north of Scotland for our honeymoon. No place has been as good in quality and services as the Piper’s Hut. We’ve had at our private usage a little flat, with kitchen, bathroom, coffee machine, fridge, toaster, food… It was five minutes foot distance to the city centre of Portree, which is the biggest city on Skye Island and a strategic location for trip routes exploring the island. We met Megan, she has been lovely and caring. We she and Alex discovered of our honeymoon they have welcomed us with a card and a letter, and with a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate. We felt at home: our best staying in Scotland!

This was a very warm and cozy property. The host(s) have obviously payed a significant amount of attention to detail and thought into the preparation and presentation of this property. You will find almost anything you could possibly need in a pinch without having to venture out after a long trip. The host(s) were also very approachable, kind, and helpful with regard to making recommendations for outings and dining options. I would not even consider other options if there was an opportunity for another trip to Isle of Skye. 10 out of 10 is simply an understatement.

From Inverness originally, I have lived and worked in Portree for almost 20 years now. I work for VisitScotland, the national tourism body and would be delighted to suggest many places for you to explore - some of these you won't see or hear about in the guidebooks!
Married with a small son, this is a family business but we prefer to treat you as friends than guests and would be delighted to chat if you wanted too.
I have played the bagpipes for over 25 years and am the pipe major of the local Isle of Skye Pipe Band - if you want to know more about the bagpipes and maybe hear a tune, I'm your man!

Why they chose this property

This property is a self-contained apartment with it's own entrance and private parking outside. We are off the main road and down a small side road so it's nice and quiet.
You can walk into the picturesque village centre and choose from the many great restaurants, locals bars and delightful harbour all within less than a 10 minute wander.
Within the property you will find all you can hope for from smart TV, rain shower, coffee machines, etc.
