Relaxing stay in peaceful surroundings
Great week at the cottage - extra attention to detail made it more homely. Loved the courtyard area and the ability to open the bi-folds to enjoy the outside. The owners have thought of everything you need which is not always the case in self catering accommodation.

Wonderful cottage
We regularly stay in the area and have tried quite a number of cottages and Pear Tree Cottage is definitely one of the best and certainly the best value. Penny was a great host. The location is good - on a fairly quiet road and within easy reach of both Wedmore and the A38, so easy to get most places.

Perfect place to stay with friends
We stayed for a week in Cider Apple Cottage which is ideal for two couples as you each have a bedroom and bathroom at opposite ends of the cottage. It is really comfortable, quiet and very clean. There is a lovely patio area to sit out. We were exploring the Somerset levels and coast.

Wonderful cottage in a great location
The beautifully restored cottage was very clean, comfortable and perfect for two couples to share. The private patio area was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the garden. The location was quiet but within easy reach of Wedmore, Wells and Cheddar. A perfect spot for long walks and exploring Somerset! We can highly recommend the cottages and hope to return again soon.

Another relaxing stay
This was our fourth (or fifth?) stay. It was every bit as relaxing and enjoyable as the previous ones. We were both in need of the break so didn't venture out much, not least because of the weather!

Wonderful host, wonderful accommodation and great location
Penny is the host & is charming, she really is a lovely person.
She is very knowledgeable, informative and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and you are made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive.
Accommodation is spotlessly clean and everything is high quality and in working full order - well maintained. It has its own private terraced garden which is lovely in the sun also being on 1 level is a great advantage!
Location is great for all local attractions - Highly recommended

Penny is a great host and very knowledgeable about the area. The recent addition of green technology (solar and wind) reflects the family’s commitment to sustainable living.
The location of the cottages is very convenient for exploring Somerset, Bath and Bristol. Foodies will enjoy the wonderful restaurants in Wedmore and the surrounding area.

David and Penny Denbee, the owners of Pear Tree Farm, extend the warmest of welcomes to beautiful Somerset. Pear Tree Farm has been in David’s family for three generations and it was a dairy farm until 2005 when David switched to beef and sheep production. Staying here during the lambing and calving season gives you opportunity to see the new born animals first hand. The farm is criss-crossed by footpaths and offers great views across the valley floor to The Mendip Hills, Axbridge, Cheddar and Wells and even to Brean Down and the Bristol Channel beyond. The ancient settlement of Wedmore is 1.5 miles away and is known to historians as the place where Alfred the Great and the Viking king, Guthrum, agreed a peace treaty in 878 AD, and it is where Guthrum converted to Christianity. It’s also known to the modern visitor as a charming, bustling place alive with every amenity, whose busy shopping streets belie its size as a small village. You will find bijou designer clothing shops alongside shops selling the best local foodstuffs: a butchers/farm shop, fishmonger, delicatessen and a newsagent/off-licence. There are also three traditional Somerset pubs to eat and drink in.
