A lovely relaxing place to stay
We had everything we needed in the cottage which was well located for driving/walking in the area. Penny our host was most accommodating and we would most certainly visit again probably in the winter when we can light the woodburner

Perfect cottage in an excellent location
I visited with a friend, who stayed in the adjoining cottage, on a holiday designed for writing in the mornings and exploring the area in the afternoons. We ate out most nights and especially liked the Swan in Wedmore.

We had a lovely weekend at Cherry Plum Cottage. The cottage was perfect, modern but warm, cosy and comfortable. It was also impeccably clean and well equipped. It’s in a great location for visiting Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and more. We’ll stay longer next time! The booking experience was very smooth.

A relaxing change of scene
The cottage is so comfortable and quietly located. It was a joy to return to when we had been out in the cold and wet, and lovely to sit in the courtyard listening to the birdsong when we had sun.

Lovely barn conversion in tranquil setting
We enjoyed a later summer break in the well thought out barn conversion. Ideal location for exploring the part of Somerset. Days out in Wells, Cheddar, Glastonbury and a glorious walk along the cliffs at Brean Down. It was great to come home at the end of a day exploring to a comfortable home from home.

Thank you for this super review. We always try to provide everything that we would want ourselves so I am glad that you had everything you needed. As you said, we are ideally placed to explore Somerset with its diverse countryside. Exploring towns and cities, sunning yourself on the beaches, bird watching, walking on the Somerset Levels and Mendip Hills, are all things you can do here to name but a few.

Brilliant base for exploring this beautiful area
Our first time exploring this part of Somerset. Loved Wells Cathedral and Cheddar Gorge. Cherry Plum Cottage provided the perfect base.
The accommodation is very comfortable and well equipped. As we were blessed with good weather we made the most of the beautiful patio garden. We'll have to return in winter to enjoy the wood burner.

About the host
Hosted by Host
David and Penny Denbee, the owners of Pear Tree Farm, extend the warmest of welcomes to beautiful Somerset. Pear Tree Farm has been in David’s family for three generations and it was a dairy farm until 2005 when David switched to beef and sheep production. Staying here during the lambing and calving season gives you opportunity to see the new born animals first hand. The farm is criss-crossed by footpaths and offers great views across the valley floor to The Mendip Hills, Axbridge, Cheddar and Wells and even to Brean Down and the Bristol Channel beyond. The ancient settlement of Wedmore is 1.5 miles away and is known to historians as the place where Alfred the Great and the Viking king, Guthrum, agreed a peace treaty in 878 AD, and it is where Guthrum converted to Christianity. It’s also known to the modern visitor as a charming, bustling place alive with every amenity, whose busy shopping streets belie its size as a small village. You will find bijou designer clothing shops alongside shops selling the best local foodstuffs: a butchers/farm shop, fishmonger, delicatessen and a newsagent/off-licence. There are also three traditional Somerset pubs to eat and drink in.
