New' Scallopshell Lodge is nestled in a spectacular setting near the shores of Loch Fyne, Otter Ferry on the Ballimore Estate. Uniquely designed to enjoy the peaceful surrounds and tranquil waterside location. A welcoming and well presented three bedroom lodge, Scallopshell is a perfect hide-away to relax and unwind in a beautiful and magical setting.

Newly refurbished the interiors are of a modern and comfortable standard. The lodge comprises of a spacious open plan living area with comfortable lounges, large TV screen, and an inviting wood burning stove. Wonderful views are featured from the comforts in your living room through the large windows. On chilly evenings cosy up and stretch out in front of the wood burner with a good book and a glass of your favourite tipple.

One of the many highlights of Scallopshell is the spacious rooms and views. The Master bedroom offers wonderful window views over the loch bay. Both spacious and light, this is a perfect haven for a restful retreat away from it all. There are also a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The shared family bathroom features a shower over the bath, wash basin and toilet.

Views of the loch, changing tides and abundance of sea birds are just some of the highlights in this special place.

The lodge is ideally situated 50 metres from the beach front, with direct access it is idyllic for a lazy day’s beachcombing and long walks. The sunsets you will experience are heavenly. Scallopshell Lodge is a special place that will have you return year after year. Ideal for a family holiday, a romantic honeymoon, a special occasion or simply to escape the world.

Within walking distance (0.8 mile) the well-known Oystercatcher restaurant in Otter Ferry is located on the waterfront offering first class food and award-winning ales brewed locally in the nearby Fyne Ales Brewery at the top of Loch Fyne. Bookings advised.

A wonderful base to explore the boundless historical and scenic attractions that are on offer in this beautiful region, to the many leisure pursuits including walking, hiking, cycling, fishing and sailing, there is something for all. Explore further afield to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the Isle of Bute, and historic Inveraray, it's also an easy day trip to Oban, one of the seafood capitals of Scotland.

It was fantastic!

It was very comfortable, warm and clean, with lovely views. I loved the wood interiors and the fireplace. The shower was a little weak and ran a bit hot and cold, but I think that can be expected from a cabin out in the country. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it completly.

Excellent accommodation, the photos don’t do it justice. It’s very comfortable and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and good quality linen. With a beautiful view of the loch from the main bedroom. Kitchen is well equipped. The area is so peaceful and location is amazing! I would book again and again!!

Cosy cabin on banks of Loch Fyne

There was a very damp and musty smell in the hall and bathroom. The vegetation surrounding the cabin was overgrown so the outside felt oppressive rather than having a clear view of the Loch as per the advertisement. The wall glazing needs cleaning. The owner kindly supplies a huge amount of logs stored outside. Half of them disappeared during our stay which made us feel insecure as we felt it may be a local resident. ( Not really anyone else passing) Despite all this, the cabin was warm, extremely comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen, and we loved walking around and down to the Loch with our little dog / venturing further afield. Beautiful area.

Great location but a few issues

The views from Scallopshell, particularly from the lounge and master bedroom, across Loch Fyne are fantastic. There was a smell of damp and mustiness on entry that never cleared even though we opened windows as often as the weather allowed. We never managed to get any hot water, although the electric shower was good. There were no instructions for the complicated oven or heating. It's within a 20 minute walk of The Oystercatcher pub, which does excellent meals. Good WiFi, although we couldn't get the apparently smart tv to connect. It's spacious and well furnished, with particularly comfortable beds.

Amazing location

Lovely lodge with amazing views Light bright and very comfortable. Lots of wildlife about and some interesting walks close by It is pretty remote and the roads are v narrow and potholed so drive with care There is no instruction book or the cooker which would be helpful as ir is notvstraighforward Overall we had a wonderful peaceful stay despite the rain !!

Really beautiful place and the lodge was comfortable and well equipped. We had a great holiday although there were one or two things missing that you sometimes get in holiday homes - like kitchen cloths, soap and shower gel. But overall a very positive experience.

A really beautiful, quiet, rural cabin by Loch Fyne

We really recommend this place - we had such a lovely holiday and the views are just incredible. Access to the water is very easy - you can't go directly down from the cabin (though you can see the water straight from the cabin) but it's just a few minutes walk by the road. Although there are quite a lot of other cabins on the estate, it is very well done, so you feel like you've got a lot of privacy. The place was spotless when we turned up, and very well managed in terms of C19. There were a few minor issues (a lightbulb that had gone, the fire wasn't getting enough oxygen to stay alight etc) and Tristan was very responsive when we texted him, and came down to the cabin himself to sort out everything he could. The place is very comfortable and spacious. We were only two people and a dog (the cabin sleeps six) but even with a bigger group I think it would feel comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. Don't rely on the internet. Apparently there haven't been too many issues in the past but it was pretty much unusable while we were there, and there wasn't any phone signal either - bear in mind that this is very rural. I'm sure you don't go to a place like this for the internet though - it's all about the views, views, views!

We had a lovely week at Scallopshell Lodge. The house was clean and comfortable and in a lovely setting with beautiful views. The kitchen was well equipped. We have visited the estate a number of times, so know the area well, but first-time visitors may need a bit more local information provided to make the most of their holiday. I would highly recommend any of the lodges to friends and family.
