Beautiful cottage! Quiet, spacious, well appointed!! Really enjoyed everything ... with the exception of the water pressure in the shower, which was truly minimal. Be advised that the firepit is not near the cottage, it's a bit of a walk away halfway down the steps to the water and no railing so ill advised for elderly or physically disabled. But overall a terrific rental!

We had a lovely stay. The cottage is just as pictured and described. It is bright and the layout makes excellent use of the space available We particularly enjoyed the large deck and sunset views. It was super quiet - other than the birds. The waterfront is rocky (so I wished I had brought my water shoes) but Sandbanks isn’t far if you prefer sand. It was an excellent base for exploring the county.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We have made sure to highlight the rock beach which is common in the PEC area. You were amazing guests and grateful to have hosted you.

A beautiful house with all the basic amenities one needs. Gorgeous deck with a view of the water.

We had a great time at this cottage. Very family friendly with all you need for a weekend away. The hosts replied rapidly to any questions. The cottage is lovely, neat and well decorated. Well stocked kitchen and a lovely dining area with views over the water. Sad to have our weekend come to an end!

Enjoyed our stay!

Our stay was great and pretty much as advertised. Was a little disappointed with sound transfer in bedrooms and bathroom a little tight but otherwise your place has lots of charm and was thoughfully put together for your guests. We had a great time and would come back again! Best regards, Nancy, Janet, Kelly & (Parker - Kelly's dog)

A raving review of The Raven's Nest

The Raven's Nest was exactly as described and pictured. Clean and newly renovated. Cleverly designed and had everything you could possibly need. Beautiful view from the deck and nice access to the bay. The shared beach was lovely and we basically had it all to ourselves. PEC has lots to offer if you want to stay busy and explore. But if you are looking to simply relax and unwind you could not find a more peaceful location. Also great communication with the owners including recommendations and tips for our stay.

Great vacation for the body and the soul.

What a great property! Location just outside of the city to avoid the people, yet close enough to do things or go shopping at the many stores that line Main Street. The property was extreamly clean and well appointed with everything we needed to make meals. The deck was a perfect escape for morning coffee and steak dinners in the evening. The fire pit area was also a great little hideaway to cook hotdogs and smoores before heading to the best night sleeps I've had in a long time! The owners were super fast when responding to the many questions we asked them. Their recommendations on things to do and see while visiting were spot on. We look forward to staying again next year!

Vacationer Beware

The check-in instructions were outdated/incorrect; a minor matter that the owner corrected beforehand. It rained for 2 days before we checked-in - we opened the door and the ceiling fans were running - we quickly realized why - the place was damp and very musty. And the kitchen chairs had a coating of dust on their seat rears. We didn't stay beyond 5 minutes and only asked for a refund of the cleaning fee, not for the 3 night stay and the owner refused. The owner claimed we stayed 1 of the 3 nights - we did not. Anyone considering staying here should also be aware that the bedrooms are tiny - slightly larger than the beds.

We are very sorry you felt the place was musty. We literally check it before every check in. We have had dozens of renters and even after the cottage being closed for the winter never has anyone remotely said that. Air can definitely get a bit stale in any house. With the rain prior to your arrival the windows were all closed. We keep the fans on all the time especially in the summer since there is no AC. It’s not to hide any musty smell despite your claim. You’re right that rooms aren’t huge. As a 800sf cottage the space is limited but we show photos and state that in the listing. Lastly you never allowed us to rectify anything - although we disagree fully about any musty smell. We told VRBO you only reached out to us about any issue the day after check in. Not that you stayed one night. As for cleaning fee we have our cleaners booked in advance and to last minute ask to take away their source of income we didn’t feel is appropriate. We truly are sorry you were disappointed but we have dozens of renters on multiple platforms that give our place a glowing review.

The Raven's Nest

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience. You did not reach out at all during your stay with issues so we are shocked as we aim to provide a quality country experience. 1) The loft setup is very clear in our listing so not sure how you missed that. 2) Mice do live in the country, sorry, and we have stations to control and mouse ultrasonic units but you unplugged them and left food out. 3) we supply one roll of toilet paper for each day of stay and are happy to provide more if needed. We reached out multiple times during your stay to see if we can help but you did not rep

Just what we needed

We booked this cottage early in the year (during lockdown) and looked forward to it for months. It didn’t disappoint. The cottage and property are lovely and peaceful with beautiful views. Once we purchased water shoes, we enjoyed swimming in the lake. We went on a few fun outings (Sandbanks beach, Mustang drive-in, Caddy Shack mini golf and dinner at Drake Devonshire), but mostly we just enjoyed relaxing at this home away from home. The weather was HOT but the ceiling fans made it all OK. The hosts are responsive and great and they provide all that’s needed for an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended!

Exactly as advertised

We had a great stay at the Raven's Nest. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a beautiful deck overlooking the garden and the lake. Rapid communication with the owners and easy check-in. A well-equipped kitchen. Conveniently located near the Glenora Ferry terminal and a short drive to Picton. Everything was exactly as described in the listing. Many thanks to Stephen and MaTTI!

Great stay at the Raven's Nest

Raven's Nest is a lovely little cottage. Beautifully decorated, nicely finished, and in a quiet location, it's the perfect spot for a getaway week or weekend. The proxomity to nearby towns was so convenient and yet you still feel like you are in a restful spot. The hosts were communicative, accomodating, and thoughtful. Our only tips to would be renters.. there is no air-conditioning and no laundry but if those aren't deal breakers for you we would highly recommend!

Clean and comfortable - quickly felt like home.

First impression of the cottage? Very clean and cozy. Nestled above the lake amongst the trees, the large deck was an excellent space to relax and bbq meals overlooking the view and beautiful sunsets. The cottage is situated between two others, however, neighbours respected our space and when present (which was not all that much) where not at all intrusive during our week-long stay. The cottage stayed cool during hot days thanks to the ceiling fans and I could not have had better rests in the very comfortable bed. Not far from Picton for any needed items and groceries. Good location to depart from for adventures in the county! The beach is rocky as described, so come prepared with some water shoes. Otherwise enjoyed access to the waterfront. Overall, it was a great getaway.
