Such a cosy, comfortable and well maintained cottage with stunning views. Booking and check in was very easy and communication with the host was excellent. We are booking again!
My two friends and I stayed for a week, and enjoyed the property for its bucolic setting and central location to places we wished to visit. Making friends with the sheep was an added bonus, as well as the little train that passes a few times a day .
We’ve had a fantastic stay. The house is warm and welcoming, beds are really comfortable and the welcome treats were extremely thoughtful and generous. The views are really lovely and the hosts are really friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend enough
A beautiful place to stay beautiful surroundings and views. Host was more than helpful. Great communication. Property was outstanding. Would definitely go there again to stay lovely for peace and quiet and a lovely wind down to hectic life.
Amazing views and a beautiful home - a perfect place to stay
We spent four days in Beddgelert...and wish we had booked for longer! We had one rainy day, but it was fine because we loved looking out at the sheep, mountains, trees, and the beauty that surrounds the home. The home was lovely and had everything you would need. The owners were terrific and had a large selection of treats waiting for us. They were happy to help and kept the grounds beautiful. For those who are interested, there is a Celtic rainforest next to the property. Our friend was excited to discover it, as they are no longer as common in Wales. These include large areas with ferns and thick moss. To access it, walk out of the home and cross the train tracks, turning to your right to follow the path. You will see it near the house. Many of the trees are covered by moss, as are the stone walls under the trees. It makes for amazing pictures. There are trails throughout the area that you can follow to find more.
Darwen Fach exceeded our expectations, the house was fresh, clean, modern, luxurious and cosy, a real home from home. It had everything we needed and more, towels and toiletries were a great touch and the welcome gifts were really thoughtful, all the family enjoyed them. The area surrounding the house has it all, hills, woods, rivers and amazing views, we explored them all (even in the wind and rain!) and you get to return to snuggle around the cosy log burner at the end of the day. Close to the main village and larger towns not too far away but we felt it had just the right amount of isolation to get away from it all. Hosts were lovely and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to return in the summer to experience in a different season.
On the drive up to the property the views were breathtaking, the views of Snowdon and the Menai strait are difficult to describe in their beauty. The instructions given by the hosts were clear and we found the property with ease. The cottage is just as described, the photos on here are very true to the image in person. The 2 bedrooms were light and clean with plenty of space in both. The 2 bathrooms were clean and modern with fresh towels and hand soap provided. It is clear that this has been modernised with eyes to detail as the kitchen and living space were elegantly decorated. The gift basket and treats for our daughter upon arrival were thoughtful and indicative of Garth and Llinos hosting style.
The train traveling past the cottage was a lovely event and the views are indescribable! The photos on here really don’t do justice to the gorgeous setting in which Derwen Fach sits. The sound of the babbling brook can be heard and it just adds to the tranquility of the setting.
I have tried my hardest to describe the indescribable in this review but it can only be believed when seen with your own eyes.
If you are considering this cottage as a holiday stay I would give you this advice, do it! You will not regret staying at Derwen Fach, we cannot wait to visit again!
Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful, comfortable and very clean accommodation in a quiet location yet a lovely 10 minute walk into Beddgelert. We enjoyed the mountain view( even in the rain), sheep, sound of cuckoo birds and the creek but the daily highlight was the heritage steam train!
Just the most idyllic property and location! Our third time here and we will be returning. Spotless house that caters for your every need and those views - wow just wow!
A gorgeous property presented to the highest standard. Within walking distance of beddgelert and right on the steam train's route. We loved it will be coming back.
We were so please to be able to stay at this incredible property, the location was perfect, the natural surroundings were gorgeous, the hosts had set the house up so beautifully, we couldn't have wished for anymore!
We stayed for 4 nights, and it was wonderful. Very quiet, just far enough off the beaten track. Charming little steam train along the bottom of the garden once a day. Accommodation very clean and welcoming.
We really enjoyed our vacation. The accommodation is very nice and modern. The view of nature is fantastic and the beautiful Beddgelert is only a 10-minute walk away. A clear number one.
The house is beautiful, secluded, with stunning views. Only a 10 minute walk into the village, with Porthmadog a 15 minute drive away. The owners are fabulous and the house has everything and more that you could need. We had a great week (despite the rain) and will definitely return.
Absolutely brilliant, the location is surrounded by nature but only a 10 minute walk to the village shops & pubs. Really comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, modern and spotlessly clean.
Would highly recommend and will be booking another trip in future
Stayed at Derwen Fach for 7 nights from 26th December 2023, stunning location, spectacular views, beautiful house, decor & layout spot on. Easy 10 minute walk into Beddgelert, would definately recommend & return 👍
Third time here now and we love the place. Great views and excellent property all round. Nothing too much trouble for the owners who respond quickly to any queries.
A great barn conversion sitting amongst several mountains. Short walk into Beddgelert, which is lovely. Steam trains pass by several times a day. A truly brilliant stay.
Climb Moel Hebog if you dare.
This property lived up to all expectations. The decor, furniture and all equipment was of the highest standard. There was no aspect of the description which was exaggerated. The setting was extremely secluded and private. There are no near neighbours. This is a highly recommended destination in the heart of amazing countryside.
