Penpoll Cottage is a charming two-bedroom retreat with its own private hot tub, located just outside Tresooth's main courtyard. This semi-detached cottage sits alongside Porthallow, another two-bedroom property, and spans two floors.

This cottage has a fresh, inviting design that blends modern comfort with timeless charm. The open-plan living and kitchen area on the ground floor offers a welcoming space to unwind, with a fully equipped kitchen that includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a superking bed, an en-suite shower room, and a Velux ceiling window that fills the room with natural light. The second bedroom, with twin beds, also has its own en-suite shower room, ensuring privacy and convenience.

Penpoll is one of our pet-free cottages, ideal for guests seeking a tranquil, allergy-friendly stay.

Parking is shared with other cottages and is conveniently located at the front of the complex.

Relaxing break

We loved our stay in Penpoll cottage! It was well equipped, clean and had exclusive use of a hot tub. The staff were very friendly and helpful; and beautiful beaches were just a short drive away.

Trip to Falmouth for family wedding

Penpoll had everything we needed for a family trip away. Great location, although car required to get to Falmouth and surrounding areas. Swimming pool and private hot tub were a real bonus, helped make the holiday more enjoyable despite the variable weather for July. Would highly recommend Tresooth cottages to friends especially with children.

Great family holiday

We had a superb stay at Tresooth cottages. Our cottage was the perfect size for our family of 4, beautifully clean and welcoming on arrival. The kids were straight in the hot tub! The pool was hours of fun for our children as was the games room and play area. Location was great for getting out and about and we went to many places over the week. All the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. We've already recommended the cottages to others and will stay again when we next venture to Cornwall.

Penpol cottage

We had a fantastic stay at Penpol cottage, great location, lovely cottage and having the swimming pool and hot tubs onsite was great for keeping the kids happy, they also made use of the games room in the evenings, we'd definitely book again. The only things that could've made the stay a bit better would be having some sort of tumble drying facility onsite, hanging stuff on the airer in the cottage wasn't enough with how wet everything was. Atleast one empty cupboard in the kitchen would be helpful just so there was somewhere to put food.

Wonderful stay - thank you!

Thanks so much for another wonderful stay at Tresooth. We love it and have recommended it to so many people. To be supportive (hopefully not critical!) we’d gently suggest the mattresses need to be much better as they were all very creaky and uneven etc…particularly the set up in the main bedroom at Penpoll where it’s essentially two single beds pushed together. I hope this is helpful rather than rude! It didn’t impact our stay - I mention it in case it’s something that helps improve the experience in the longer term so Tresooth goes from strength to strength

Nice for a mini break

Pros: Lovely small cottage with hot tub.. Log burner was cosy and warm. Very peaceful and quiet. Car parking outside cottage. Tasty complimentary biscuits/snacks. Wi-Fi was great. Cons: Single beds made up as a double/king size had hard middle where they join. Tassimo coffee machine but no capsules. Maybe we were supposed to supply our own. No curtain/blinds on patio door, no privacy. In summary we had a lovely stay and would recommend for a couple/s or small family. The weather wasn’t the best but we managed the hot tub in the rain!

A Wet and Windy Cornwall

We chose a very wet and windy few days to stay in Cornwall which restricted our movements somewhat. Having said that Penpoll was warm and welcoming. The facilities were excellent with few irritations. However the irritations were significant. Storage could have been better. The blinds on the roof vents were difficult to manage even with the pole supplied. The guide in the cottage said that there were instructions to the appliances in a drawer in the kitchen but none were to be found. While the appliances appeared simple to use, instructions were still needed. On one day there appeared to be a problem with the water pressure which meant that the taps and shower would suddenly go cold. Not very nice! Having said that, we would probably consider Treesooth Cottages in the future.

A great break away

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and had everything we needed and we wished we’d booked for longer. The swimming pool made it and the on-site team were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Our aim over the next two years is to upgrade the communal areas and each individual unit, employing modern design elements that remain sympathetic to the original Cornish buildings, while ensuring an excellent level of comfort and facility to our guests.

Why they chose this property

The group of five friends that recently purchased Tresooth are all British, but most of us have lived abroad for many years, developing our own individual property and rental businesses in France, Spain and the USA. Tresooth gave us the opportunity to pool all our knowledge and experience together back in our home country, as we focus our efforts towards this beautiful area of the UK. We are excited to bring our collective expertise to Tresooth, upgrading all the cottages and facilities over the next two years and offering guests a superior holiday experience.

What makes this property unique

Located just outside the quaint village of Mawnan Smith, Tresooth Cottages are a ten minute drive from the bustling port town of Falmouth. With some of the UK’s best beaches, water sports galore, a harbour and a thriving restaurant scene, the Falmouth area is one of the UK’s most sought after holiday destinations.

The Cottages themselves are situated four miles outside of Falmouth on the road towards the famous Helford River estuary, and close to the picturesque Trebah Gardens. Excellent cycle routes, dog walks and beautiful rambling paths are on the doorstep, offering guests both convenience and tranquility; the perfect spot to enjoy this area of quintessential Cornish countryside.

With the communal areas offering a large swimming pool, two hot tubs, a sauna, a games room, children’s play area and pet friendly accommodation, the facilities are a step above many of the other holiday cottages in the area.

There are 16 individual cottages at Tresooth, ranging in size from one bedroom units sleeping two, up to a four bedroom unit sleeping eight. The majority of bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Seven of the cottages are situated around the pretty central stone courtyard, with the remaining eight cottages to the rear or side of the courtyard area. Each cottage has its own outdoor seating area, and some have private hot tubs.
