While the location was ideal for some, it is directly above a bar so not ideal with a family. The pictures certainly show a more modern facility than reality.

Great location in central Madrid, steps from Gran Via metro. We had five of us in the unit and fit comfortably. Having two bathrooms was very nice, plenty of space and hot water too. The furnishings are sparse and simple but suited our needs - we were not there except to sleep! Easy to access all of the central Madrid sights and shopping. The many locks could be stubborn at times but no real issues for us during our stay. There is a bar/nightclub downstairs on the corner but it did not disturb us (our unit was two floors above it).

The host was great at communicating about the property. They were very quick to reply and offered suggestions about trains, taxi service, etc. The check in process was easy. We met the host at their office and they provided the keys and instructions for entry. They were very easy to work with. The apartment was just a block off of Gran Via, where all the shopping and restaurants are located. So it was easy to walk everywhere from the apartment. It was clean and had all of the basic necessities. The only downside was the noise, which wasn't the host's fault. There is a nightclub on the 1st floor of the apartment building and it was directly below our unit. The street noise continued into the early morning hours both nights of our stay, which made it difficult to sleep.

Fantastic location, close to all things. Check in was easy and smooth. Place is need of some repairs (kitchen floors), some dirty floors, and very loud location right above bars etc so sleeping not easy.
