Highly recommended, well equipped and nice house, beautiful surroundings and friendly hosts. Also very nice for the dog, fenced garden and open fields for running.
Very clean, lovely quiet location. We loved the views outside, lovely to have a small private garden. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and left us to ourselves for our stay, but close by if we needed anything.
The property was very nice and quiet for our stay and suited us perfectly as a base for our Cornwall visit. Would recommend thoroughly. The children loved the animals roaming around (especially the sheep). The fresh eggs were an especially lovely touch.

Wonderful Holiday
We had such an amazing holiday in Cornwall and staying at Rose cottage made it all the more special. The cottage had everything we needed and also had a real homely feel about it. The great Cornish weather was fantastic and the sun shines most days, which made sitting out on the deck really enjoyable. We hope to see you again soon....

Perfect
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rose Cottage, it was perfect for my Dad who is 95, no steps to negotiate! we had everything we could possibly have needed and more, we were kindly offered a shower chair for him which was very useful. The property was extremely clean and modern, the surroundings idyllic, we had a lovely restful week enjoying the fabulous weather. The decking is a lovely and useful addition for BBQ's and relaxing. We enjoyed trips to St. Ives, Falmouth and Truro, Many thanks to John and Kathryn, we will definitely return at some point in the future.

We love the variety of guests that come and we really try to accommodate people's needs. Some of our guests who have stayed have physical disabilities. Our extra wide doors inside and out allow for a wheelchair and we have handrails in our ensuite bathroom.
The space outside help give our guests lots of options for having barbeques, flying kites, playing cricket and dog walking in our fields. When it's cold outside, there's a lovely wood burner stove that guests use. We provide a variety of DVDs, books and games to play which guests appreciate.

Hidden Paradise
From the genuine welcome and sweet peas prettily displayed on the dining table to the high standard of the facilities and the location, we enjoyed a perfect holiday in our very well equipped converted "cow shed".
The farm location was easy to find from the directions given and we were extremely impressed with the high standards awaiting us, especially as dogs are welcome.
Our hosts left plenty of helpful information and were available if we needed anything but left us to happily enjoy the delightful surroundings of our accommodation, the fields and woodland walks. The location, near to Falmouth, was lovely and in our week we managed to cover most of the Cornish coast using the good road links.
We highly recommend The Shack, in Falmouth for the fresh seafood and friendly service.
We have recommended Rose Cottage to family and friends and hope to return with our dogs next year!

Peaceful cottage - Bryony Cottage
This was our second visit in 2015 this cosy property. The location is ideal if you want to be out of town but not too far away, well maintained, clean and has everything you need. The weather even in Cornwall was not at it's best in December but we were cosy in the cottage, the wood burner was lit ready for us when we arrived. A lovely view of the green fields through the window. the first primroses and blossom just showing by he gate, the chickens pecking around give the property a real rural feel. The owners and their dog are very friendly and helpful, our dog Polly loves that she can go out into the enclosed garden on her own for a good sniff round, just as she does at home. Lovely cottage to relax, close enough to Falmouth, Truro, Trebah Gardens and Eden Project and in December we could take Polly on to the nearby beaches. Lovely find, would recommend.

Location, space, tranquility and a contemporary feel to a cottage are qualities we seek to offer our guests.
We stayed at Higher Lidgey Farm and found it comfy and cosy. My Mum who uses a wheelchair or can walk short distances found it really convenient being able to be dropped right outside the door. We loved having the animals as neighbours, our puppies loved watching the sheep and the chickens kept coming for a visit. Kathryn was on hand should we need anything and was only ever a call or text away. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. Close to some lovely places but I would recommend visiting with a vehicle because it is tucked a little out of the way but with a car it only takes 10-15mins and you're in Falmouth which is a lovely place to visit. We'd definitely stay again. Thanks for having us Kathryn and family.
We very much enjoyed our week in the cottage. It was quiet and tranquil. The cottage was cosy and well equipped. There was plenty to do in the local area and Kathryn ensured we felt welcome and provided all the necessary information. Looking forward to visiting again!
Peaceful, scenic and in a perfect location. We really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly stay again. The accommodation was clean and the hosts were friendly and extremely helpful. Thank you!
Accommodation perfect. Perfectly placed for exploring the Lizard and Roseland Peninsula's. Close to both Truro and Falmouth for shops, restaurants and local pubs.
We had a great time in Cornwall, the property do have easy access to key towns and beaches. The view from the house to the field is just fantastic. Great hospitality by owners as well. The property looks slightly bigger and spotless on the pictures. We stay for 15 days, even though we got clean bed linen and towels, it would have been nice to have a cleansing service in the middle of our stay. Apart from that all good.
A lovely cottage ideally located for exploring cornwall. Peaceful rural location. clean and tidy with full amenities/equipment. We loved waking up and seeing the sheep in the garden.
Lovely base to enjoy exploring Cornwall, easy access (by car) to all main areas we wanted to visit. Very peaceful & ideal for our dog as fenced private garden for him to roam freely and watch the sheep!
Our daughters 15 & 11 loved having a walk to see cows, chicken & use trampoline. We thought they may get bored but they didn’t want to leave!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage, surroundings and location were excellent. Our only slight disappointment was due to the low fencing surrounding the cottage garden as we didn’t feel that it was secure or tall enough to let our dog outside unleashed. Otherwise our experience was excellent. Many thanks for our wonderful stay

We are so glad you had a excellent holiday.
The fences are dog proof and in the 10 years that we’ve been running the cottage, there have been no escapees! Sorry that you felt you couldn’t let your dog go into the garden unleashed.
Really enjoyable stay at the end of September. The property is as described and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is great as it’s in a remote location but not too far from the main road so getting around is relatively easy.
Would definitely recommend this property.
Lovely accommodation, a little further out of the village than we thought but still a good base for the things we wanted to see.
Beds in twin room not the best!

We are glad that you enjoyed the accommodation. A car or bike is recommended to have for getting out and about as the village is 1.5 miles away.
We take everyone's feedback very seriously and also realise that people have different preferences. We maintain everything at a very high standard and seek to ensure that guests are comfortable.
We had a wonderful week in this peaceful relaxing location. The cottage was perfect home from home with everything we needed. Beautiful location but easy drive to lots of places . I especially loved the friendly free range chickens and sheep at the bottom of the garden. First visit here but will definitely return - highly recommended.
Rose cottage is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean and sanitised for our stay . It’s set in a lovely peaceful location with some beautiful walks nearby, We had no problems during our visit so didn’t have to contact the owners . Would highly recommend

About the host
Hosted by Kathryn Miller
We moved to Cornwall from London in 2008 with a young family of 3 children and fell in love with Higher Lidgey and its environs. We're a busy household with our three children now away most of the time, studying and pursuing their career ambitions in London, Bristol and Brighton. Originally from London, we find ourselves doing quite a lot of travelling due to the demands of our work. Kathryn heads up a team of People Development specialists at the University of Bristol. John is managing director and joint owner of MARK product, a furniture and interior design business, with the manufacturing base in Cornwall and a London showroom. When we are at home, we love to spend time on the coast, walking, surfing and swimming. The garden and field space around Higher Lidgey is a wonderful place to spend time in.
Why they chose this property
The contemporary designed barn is kept to a high standard and offers a very comfortable stay. It is ideally located between both the North and South coasts. Depending on what you're wanting and the weather, you can easily get to the sea within a 15 min car drive away. There are plenty of local walks to do from the barn and the village of Ponsanooth (1.5 miles away) has a good pub and well stocked shop for some Cornish goodies. Dogs are welcome (up to a maximum of 2) and they will enjoy the environs.
What makes this property unique
The location is a brilliant opportunity to visit many different areas of Cornwall. You are very close by to many excellent restaurants located in Falmouth, Mylor, Porthleven and many other places. You can can bring up to 2 (well behaved) dogs to the cottage. You have the opportunity to also rent out an adjacent barn that sleeps 2 people so that you can easily extend your group gathering to 6 people (plus a baby). We are a friendly, warm family and would love to welcome you!
