Escape to this beautifully decorated holiday home nestled in the heart of Whitstable, comfortably accommodating six guests. Jubilee Cottage is a characterful home just a stone’s throw from the beach (no more than a 5 minute walk) and just moment’s from Whitstable High Street with its abundance of pubs and restaurants and delightful boutique shops.
Jubilee Cottage is next door to Devon Cottage which also sleeps 6 so you can rent the 2 together to sleep 12.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
This cottage enjoys a central location, perfectly positioned between the town and the beach in Whitstable. A short two-minute walk into town offers a delightful array of restaurants and unique boutiques. The beach is also just a two-minute stroll away, where you can enjoy leisurely walks along the promenade stretching to Seasalter in one direction and Herne Bay in the other. Nearby tennis courts are easily accessible, or you can hire a bicycle from Kent Cycles to explore the scenic woodlands along the Crab and Winkle Way.
You have access to all areas in the property apart from the cupboard under the stairs.
Built in 1887, the year of Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and the inspiration for its name, this cottage retains much of its historic charm and original features from its time as a mariner's home over a century ago.
The ground floor features a comfortable and stylish lounge, ideal for cosying up with a book on a chilly winter evening or enjoying TV (with Sky) and a film from the provided selection of DVDs. The fully equipped kitchen is thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need for your stay, including a double oven, microwave, and washing machine. The separate dining room, comfortably seating six, along with a cosy sofa, makes this room the heart of the house – a wonderful space to mingle and chat over drinks or a meal after a day of exploring Whitstable. A convenient cloakroom is also located on the ground floor.
The first floor offers three bedrooms: a large master bedroom with a king-size bed, a double bedroom to the rear, and a twin bedroom in the middle . Each bedroom has been recently refurbished and is tastefully decorated and furnished with high-quality bedding and throws, ensuring a comfortable stay. The small family bathroom consists of a bath, with shower overhead, toilet and basin.
The garden is a delightful space to relax in on warm summer evenings, complete with comfortable outdoor sofas, a dining table, and a small lawn. Adding to its appeal, the house features a private driveway with parking for one car – a significant advantage in Whitstable.
There is free off street parking for 1 car and there are parking spaces outside for an hour - enough time to unload. The nearest free street parking is in Cornwallis Circle which is only round the corner. The nearest paid parking is Middle Wall car park. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.

There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along Harbour Street, High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
Whitstable Taxi services are available for short fares or airport runs.
The nearest airports are in London and the nearest Ferry port is in Dover.
No smoking. Sorry no pets allowed. Please keep a noise to a minimum after 10pm to respect the neighbours. Please put the garden seating cushions away in the box once you have finished using them.
