The living areas consist of an open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting area with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, woodburning stove, and Freeview TV with a selection of books and DVDs, and a utility with washing machine and dishwasher. The bedrooms consist of a double with en-suite, a twin, and a bunk room, serviced by a bathroom and a ground-floor cloakroom. Outside there is a rear lawn, decked area with furniture, barbecue and hot tub, a shared 6-acre field with children's play area, and off-road parking on the shared driveway. One well-behaved dog welcomed, but sorry, no smoking. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. Guests also have access to a shared games room with a pool table, table tennis, table football, air hockey, and TV. The Hawthorns is a wonderful base for a family escape to Devon. Note: Fuel for the woodburner is available Oct-March; at other times of year fuel for stove can be purchased locally.

South Molton, a charming town nearby, has a variety of stores and a twice-weekly market. This charming community is sure to please visitors of all tastes because it is conveniently near to both beach and inland beauty sites. Forests, moors, rivers, and beaches are all nearby, as are churches and other historical structures. The Exmoor National Park's border is only a mile or two away. The South West Coast Path offers excellent hiking opportunities, and the North Devon shoreline is attractive and varied.
