About the host
Hosted by Elaine Johnson
My Great Grandad was born in Basildon Moor Farm, just near Wirksworth and married his wife Sarah in Brassington Church. They moved to Stockport but my family has always been drawn back to the Peak. We bought Three Bears Cottage in 1996 and have loved it ever since.
Why they chose this property
Eyam is an interesting village, full of both social and industrial history. Built after the the plague, Three Bears was once part of a building where workers from the shoe factory in the centre of the village lived.
The name itself came from the previous owner, who had three children. It is however quite apt as there used to be Bear Baiting in the centre of the village; the Bear Ring can still be seen.

What makes this property unique
Three Bears is ideally placed to enjoy the village of Eyam but also the surrounding area.
