Beautiful property, beautiful view and the best place for rest, & relaxation! No need to worry about the seasons you stay, there is always something to see or do.
Wonderful place!
This is a very comfortable house in a great spot. If you fish, it's just a few steps out the back to get down to the dock. If you golf, you have a some great courses within an easy drive. The kitchen has all the essentials you'll need. The host was great to work with and quickly answered our questions.

3's a Charm!
Our family has been vacationing in the area for 15+ years and this was our 3rd consecutive summer stay at the Walker residence. Jim Walker has taken care of all the necessary detail to truly make this property feel like home to our family of 5. Our 2 teens & 8yr old are never in need of a scheduled event as the property has enough to keep all occupied. Tennis, boating, swimming, fishing, a good
book on the deck that overlooks the lake is enough to satisfy all. If you are need of more
there is much to do within a short drive; site seeing, hiking, natural bathing pools, live theatre and more. The warmth of the home along with peace and beauty given from the surrounding countryside keeps us coming back for more. Once again...thank you Jim for sharing your beautiful home wity our family!
This property was fantastic! It was very clean when we arrived! The kitchen had everything we needed -- pots/pans/bowls/plates/silverware. We had 7 adults stay the week and had a few people pop in throughout the week for a day or two. At one point, we had 12 adults stay for a couple of nights and it didn't feel crowded at all!
There were multiple seating areas, allowing us to spread out! There was a living room overlooking the lake, a living room off one of the porches, and a smaller seating area near the indoor fireplace. It was perfect if we had multiple board games going at once!
The house is literally right on the water!! It has a beautiful dock with a great view of the entire lake. The water was nice when we were there -- about waist height climbing in from the dock. No seaweed, but there were many slimy rocks (can't really prevent that -- so I'd recommend bring water shoes if that bothers you). There was a firepit with plenty of seating for 10 to 12 people. There was also plenty of space for lawn games.
The owner, Stephen was great to work with -- he was very responsive and provided information that clearly explained everything we needed to know (i.e. where the trash was located, etc.).

Will be Back!
I cannot thank Jim enough for opening up this family home to guests! The home was EXACTLY what we expected: Spacious, comfortable, clean. We were in town for a family wedding, had young children with us- we had ample room for the children to play (even found a baby gate for the stairs! The house had EVERYTHING we could need!), plenty of kitchen space to host a family breakfast for our extended family that was in town- everyone was envious of OUR accommodations! The views from each bedroom of the water and mountains was spectacular. We had plenty of seating throughout the house for folks to comfortably visit or have some space alone to read and relax. The location was perfect- easily found by GPS, close enough to town for last minute groceries, and an easy drive to both Littleton for the wedding and back to Whitefield (Mnt. View Grand) for the reception. Finding this house made attending this family wedding affordable and a lot less stressful than trying to contain our little ones in a hotel room! But, all of this does not compare to how impressed we were with the owner. Jim called and spoke with me at the time of the booking and gave excellent instructions and tips for a better stay, and then made arrangements to speak with us again upon our arrival to help us find all we would need inside the home. When he found out that he would not be able to keep this phone call date, he immediately contacted us and we reviewed everything at that time. From the details within the home and conversations with him, it really felt like we were visiting an old family friends' home. Both my brother and sister commented that it reminded us of where we went as children, which was more than I had ever hoped when I had selected this house, as these are where our best childhood memories are from! We will be back- hopefully during the summer so we can enjoy the decks and water!

This property was everything we were hoping for and more. The open layout on the first floor is awesome, but there were also some areas to get some privacy if needed. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms were well-supplied with everything we needed. Although the house has no A/C, the cross-breeze and fans in the bedrooms were more than sufficient to keep us cool. The bedroom arrangements were great, with plenty of room for everyone. The only comment I would make for the benefit of anyone interested is that the 5th bedroom (twin bunk) is relatively small so it’s more appropriate for kids.
The lawn area was perfect for sunning or playing some of the games we brought, like bocce, cornhole and kubb. The tennis court was awesome as well…the surface is in perfect shape.
The lake was awesome. Not busy or loud, and quite calm. Fishing from the docks was excellent (lots of sunfish, as well as some smaller perch and bass), and the water was warm, clear and refreshing. We didn’t use the duck boat or canoe, as we brought our own inflatable kayak to use. Trips around the lake produced some beautiful views of the area as well as some of the local wildlife, including Osprey fishing in the lake and the local family of Loons (birds, not people 😊).
We made sure to spend quality time at the house but did also make trips to Mount Washington Cog Railway (~35 minute drive), the flume gorge (~35 min), ziplining (~40 min in Lincoln), North Conway for shopping and dinner (~60 min) as well as Meredith (~75 min) for Funspot arcade, dinner, mini-golf and ice cream at Kellerhaus. Had we more time, I would like to have spent a little time in downtown Littleton to check out the shops and perhaps try a restaurant. Stephen had also recommended going to the Mount Washington Hotel and eating on the deck for the views, but there was rain the day we wanted to do that so we had to pass. There are quite a few hiking options nearby but we just never got to them (you can see them in the AllTrails app).
Communications with Stephen were excellent with quick response. We also met Daniel, who was taking care of the outside of the property, and he was very friendly and helpful.
Overall, this is an excellent place to stay. Frankly we could easily have occupied another week with the things we never got to do.
Thank you, Stephen, for sharing your property!
Beautiful big place with stunning views out every window. It accommodated our family of 6 adults and 3 kids (2 months, 2 year and 5 year old.) The kids loved the spacious yard and 2 docks. We used the canoe several times. Great bike riding on the quiet road around the lake, and fun visits to Littleton. The loons were a special treat. This is a beloved family place, and it was fun to make it our own it to build some memories after COVID isolation. We celebrated three birthdays, and cousins met for the first time.
We had a great stay at the Forest Lake house. We had multiple families staying together and everyone enjoyed the house and the lake. The owner was very responsive.
We rented this property with our family's friends for our summer vacation together as a substitute for another vacation which we had to cancel because of the current situation. All I can say that we had an amazing time! It is the best you can ask for a summer time on a lake. The house is very charming and nicely decorated with cozy corners for different activities, and with the many windows facing the gorgeous lake it is just awesome, looks even better in real btw. The bedrooms have a nice view towards the lake too. The kids had a great time jumping in the water, canoeing, relaxing on a float in the lake, or just being outside. We, the adults spent every single minute outside, playing tennis, great extra btw, going for walks in the neighborhood, sunbathing, or taking the boat in the water. The yard is large and it is very nice, it offers many spots for relaxing, that was all we needed. At night we had family time around the fire-pit, enjoying the gorgeous sunsets, sipping wine and enjoying the peaceful environment. The lake is the right size if you go with kids, warm and shallow water, and we had no worries to let the kids by themselves canoeing.
If you happen to be on July 4th, this is the most fun place to be, with all the neighbors' fireworks it was an amazing picture to see!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Stephen's house, and we'd love to come back again.
Our family truly enjoyed staying at this lake home. The house is comfortable and clean with plenty of space for us to spread out. The setting is beautiful. Very peaceful with amazing views. The pictures don’t do it justice. Inside or out. You really feel away from reality - but yet it’s super convenient to get to restaurants or the grocery store. The tennis court on site and fire pit were nice amenities.
Stephen was great to work with - very responsive and welcoming.
We really enjoyed this much needed change of scenery and are excited to return again!
This home worked out perfectly for our moms and daughters ski weekend. It was the perfect (and relaxing) spot to come back to after a day of skiing. The house is right on a lake and the views are amazing!
Our family had a wonderful time at this lake property. The views from the living room at sunset were spectacular and we really enjoyed playing cards at the big kitchen table and sitting around the outdoor fire pit.
nice property with beautiful view from the living room
Our families enjoyed our stay at this lake house. the house is well-kept and beautiful inside out. Hopefully, we will be able to book back our trip in next Fall again!
We spent 5 days at this great house. Stephen was very welcoming and supporting of anything we requested. The house is absolutely great, located on the lake with amazing views.
Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful week at Forest lake. The house is very comfortable and roomy. The tennis court saw a lot of action and we all enjoyed the beautiful views from the dock.
Stephen Walker was an extremely gracious host. He was immediately responsive. The property provided an idyllic vacation for our family of eleven. The property is top notch and centrally located for a multitude of vacation attractions.

Great spot
We rented this house with another family over February break, 10 of us in total, and could not have been happier. When you’re at the house it feels very isolated and private, but it’s only a couple minutes in each direction to shops and restaurants. The house is well maintained with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. We would love to come back in the summer, I’m sure it’s great, but the winter was great as well.

Beautiful Spot
My family and I spent a week at this property and loved it. Had everything you could ask for. There were 10 of us and we never felt crowded, plenty of space to hang out. House was clean and provided all the amenities you could want. Kids loved the tennis court and basketball hoop, and many hours were spent hanging out at the dock. The water is shallow and definitely has a pond feel but was refreshing on hot days.
Lockbox made access easy when we arrived and owners were great about answering all our questions.

Moutain Peace
My family (6 adults & 1 child) recently stayed for 5 nights in this beautiful lake home. I can't say enought about the beauty and peacefullness of this lake house. The home has everything you need from appliances to cookware to plenty of cups and dishes pantry items, towels and linens. The beds were comfortable and the views from the home including the main bedrooms were amazing. We fished from the docks, floated in the lake (very shallow lake), layed in the adirondack furniture, napped in the hammock, cooked out on the barbecue and played tennis every night (we are not tennis players but I can't tell you how much fun we had pretending we new what we were doing on this lighted private tennis court), and my all time favorite part of the lake was listening to the soothing call of the loons. I had to reach out to the owner (Stephen) once while we were there and I received an immediate response from him which was great because it made us feel that our vacation was important to him. We were looking to unplug and relax and that's exactly what we did! We encountered a black bear that crossed in front of our car and found a moose wondering the road to the house (I always wondered if the moose crossing signs were for real). My only complaint would be that the checkout time is suppose to be 10:00 am but the house cleaner left a note on the counter advising she would be there at 9:00 am and was actually driving by the house qutie a bit before 9:00 to see if we had vacated. It was pretty crazy trying to get everyone fed, packed and loaded to leave by 9 although we did it I think a later checkout is needed. I would recommend this vacation home and we hope to return again. Thank you Stephen.

Perfection!
This comfortable home in a beautiful setting is simply perfect! The minute you walk in the door you relax. The view to the lake and grounds is serene. There is plenty of room for everyone to gather and or have their own space. Separate TV/reading area was great for the kids to unwind while the adults chatting by the fire or took in the lake views. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need even new pots and pans, cutting boards and bake ware. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for luggage. Bunk rooms were adored by the kids. We have rented many homes and even owned a vacation property and this one truly is top notch. This is one very special property!

Why they chose this property
Family home since the 70's. You must visit to appreciate the setting. Its remote, but still close to everything the North Country has to offer.
What makes this property unique
The lake, tennis that goes late into the night during the summer - lake hockey in the winter - it doesn't get much better. When the day is done- fireside with your feet up.
