If you want a quiet, beautiful pocket of Tokyo to come back to after a hectic day in the city, this is for you! The host had awesome recommendations for places very near the house and it's a short walk from Higashi Nagasaki station on Seibo Line. It's fantastic! We wanted to cancel our Kyoto trip to stay longer!
Wonderful location just a couple blocks from a 7-11 and small grocery store and less than a 10 minute walk to the Higashi-Nagasaki station. So glad we stayed in this nice little house in this lovely quiet residential neighbourhood. The house had everything we needed and we appreciated coming back to this quiet area after spending long days in the crowded Tokyo hot spot destinations. Highly recommended!

Wonderful location, quiet, clean and so cute. And the owner was so communicative and forthcoming with advice and recommendations. Highly recommend this place.
Kevin was the best: responsive, informative, thorough - much appreciated for first-time visitors to Japan. We also liked that the property was removed from the more chaotic downtown area. It was nice to come back to a quiet neighborhood after a busy day.

Thank you so much for staying, I wish I could have done more for you at this simple and classic apartment. I’m glad that you found it peaceful to rest, but also close to everything happening. Please come back.
Great communications from host Kevin. The location is so convenient- close to train station, shops, yummy food. Neighborhood is quiet and friendly.Perfect for us with 2 college kids, they had rooms to themselves.
Enjoyed our two week stay in a lovely quiet neighborhood. A few stops away from Ikebukuro which gives you easy access to the rest of Tokyo. House was spacious by Japanese standards for a family of 3 and well furnished.
Everything was perfect. The host was super nice and helpful, everything was clean and it's really only a short trip to Ikebukuro Station. All in all I'd definitely book again!
We spent 5 nights here. It is a little outside the city center (30 mins by train), but you cannot do better for accommodations. Very quiet neighborhood but near train, stores and local restaurants (which are excellent — check out Mr. Kumars for great Indian food). Kevin, the host, was always in communication and great to work with.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house in a quiet and relaxing neighborhoud with local restaurants and 24h shops closeby. It offers a lot of space for Tokyo and is equipped with everything you need. You can easily explore the vivid city from here by train. Easy and fast communication with the host. We can highly recommend this place
We xN highly recommend this place!
Quiet residential area. Good facilities. Underground in 2 directions. You need a map on your phone as the roads meander, but this is one of the joys of Tokyo, getting lost and finding new things. Kevin communicated throughout.
Kevin was a fantastic communicator and helped us with clear directions to get to his property including videos of how to get the trains and a video of how to walk there from the station. He also provided us with instructions and advice on local eateries and restaurants. His place was super close to a 7/11 and supermarket and was a quick 5 minute walk to the closest train station. His house had everything we needed for our stay. Towels soap shampoo cutlery plates bowls seasonings etc. having 3 separate sleeping areas was perfect for us too. One bedroom is down some steep steps. The beds were all very comfortable.Having a washing machine and washing liquid was also really handy.I would be more than happy to stay here again. This place is perfect for a big family or a group of friends.
Spacious, Peaceful and Well-Appointed Tokyo Rental
Here are the things we liked about the rental:1. Short walk to the Higashi-Nagasaki train station. From there, access to many destinations was very easy.2. Quiet neighborhood near groceries and restaurants.3. Spacious-- my sister was able to take her online classes with ease while my son and I rested.4. Well-equipped-- we used the kitchen for quick breakfast meals and late dinners.5. Kevin, the owner, is very responsive and easy to communicate with!We highly recommend this rental to anyone seeking a cozy home away from home in Tokyo. Please remember to honor the peaceful nature of the neighborhood and follow the local guidelines for trash disposal and recycling, which help maintain Japan's pristine environment!

Maui you are an amazing guest, you respect the local community and very nice to accommodate with. Please come back I will try do better if you need anything.
We stayed in this house for a week - 5 people. The host did the homework for us and mailed us a number of pertinent videos, from how to get a Suica card to exactly how to get to his house. The house itself is next to a large sakura, in the middle of a middle-class quiet non-touristic neighborhood, 5 minutes by foot from a seibu line station. From there it is around 25 mins or less by train to the Tokyo, Ueno, Shibuya, Shinjuku or Shinagawa stations; ikebukuro is 5 mins away. The house has everything we needed: kitchen with microwave and fridge, tv, heating and air conditioning, washer, and very clean. There are 2 convenience stores a block away and many eateries on the way to the train station. The check-in time is until 9:00 pm but the entry key is in a lock box, so I think that the check-in time is for consideration to the neighbors; it might be possible to check-in later if the host approves. The host, Kevin, was great; communication in English, very responsive, and very helpful before and during our stay. We were very happy with our experience in this house.
My family stayed here in Oct 2024 and were very happy to have this as our first stop on our multi-country vacation. Great location about a 5-minute walk from the convenient Higashi-Nagaski station, only 2 stops from bustling Ikebukuro, and within 30mins of Shinuku, Harajuku, and Shibuya. Extremely convenient location if you don't mind adding a few extra steps to your step-counter during your visit to Tokyo.
Lots of great shops and eateries nearby, and walking to the local 7-11 a minute away is something the kids loved doing every morning. Good information and communication with the owner made this an excellent first stop on our multi-country vacation. Check in was very easy, and the house manual was filled with great information and recommendations.
The highlight of the house was the tatami room, which the kids enjoyed as their first experience with traditional Japan. The house overall felt very welcoming to come home to after busy days exploring the city.
The neighborhood is quiet and residential so we did our best to respect the neighbors and family-centric vibe around the house. Quiet morning walks makes it easy to forget the size of the city you're in.
We provided feedback to the owner on a couple of minor cleaning items; however these didn't overly impact our stay, and the owner handled them right away which speaks to their dedication to future guests. Would definitely recommend when visiting the area, and will recommend to friends also.
Kevin’s house was a nice place for our family of five. Our sons (ages 24 and 17) had their own spacious room in the basement and our daughter (22) slept in the tatami room. We had enough space…which is rare in Tokyo…and we enjoyed having a quieter neighborhood to come home to after a busy day of sightseeing.
The kitchen was well-stocked and we did cook breakfast everyday. For hungry kids, we went to the nearby 7/11 for onigiri (triangular seaweed wrapped rice and meat), sushi and other food. We enjoyed some of the local restaurants. Yurikuku 55 is really yummy, where you grill your own meat at the table, Mia Mia Tokyo Coffee Shop, a Yakitori place and others…just walk around and try them out😀
Back to the house…I was a little worried that one toilet might be a problem, but it wasn’t. We brushed teeth in the kitchen and the separate shower room was also helpful.
As far as transportation goes, we took a van both ways from and to the airport. With five people and all of our luggage, it would’ve been VERY difficult to take the train. On a daily basis, the trains were great. We did find that the house is a bit far from the main areas, so we just had to allow extra time for travel. Taking a Mt Fuji day trip gave us a break from the trains and it was fun to be driven around and to stop in some small towns along the way. All in all, a very good stay for our family in Tokyo😀
