It really is a Gem. Shops and restaurants nearby, pubs not too far, tube around the corner, quiete neighbourhood. As regular travellers to London we must declare: it is the best holiday flat we ever had. And we had a few!

Quick London Get Away Stay

We finished up a river cruise and decided to stay a few days in London before heading back to the USA. We were traveling with friends and felt the VRBO housing gave us a more engaging option than staying in a hotel. Enjoyed our stay and the central location.

The flat was perfect for our family of 4. It was just as described. It was nice being outside the crowds of central London while having the convenience of the tube on the corner. Would definitely recommend.

Great family spot

Our 9 night stay in May 2024 exceeded our expectations. Flat had everything we needed. Felt like home. Nice quiet, safe neighborhood and very close to Underground access. Would stay here again. From USA.

Spacious and cosy place

The apartment was one of the best we ever had in London. Very quiet and well heated. One spacious master bedroom and one smaller one. WiFi was excellent. The garden well kept and surrounded by very old an huge trees. Close to Maida Vale tube station. Shops, cafés, pubs, everything there that could be of help and make you feel comfortable. Access could be a challenge for elderly or handicapped people.

Tradeoffs for this stay

This flat is in an excellent location and the garden is lovely to have. However, we felt it looked nicer in the listing than it did in real life. Everything felt a bit more “lived in” than shown (e.g. scuffed walls, gaps in the floorboards, furniture more worn, cupboards not organized). There was also quite a bit of construction going on next door and on the street directly in front of the building (July 2025) so it was not quiet during the day. We’d recommend the hosts do some fine tuning to improve this place so that it merits the rates being charged.
