Stronvar is a spacious and welcoming home which has been in the same family for many years. Accommodating up to eight guests, there are four bright bedrooms and two shower rooms. Set in an elevated position overlooking the harbour and with uninterrupted views of the coastline, Stronvar is one of the closest properties to the tidal pool and located just steps from the coastal path. Ideal for families, friends or golfers there is plenty of space for eight guests with the added advantage of driveway parking as well as on street parking and a large, enclosed garden. Entering the property, all rooms lead off the hallway making this property suitable for guests in the party who benefit from single floor living. The first twin bedroom is light and neutrally decorated with a bay window from which to enjoy sea views. The double bedroom looks out over the garden and the second twin room has an outlook over the private patio. All three bedrooms have plenty of storage. The modern shower room with walk in shower is located on the ground floor. To the front of the property is the large lounge with range of comfortable seating arranged to make the most of the sea views and for enjoying the warmth of the wood burning stove. A snug reading area tucked under the stairs is the perfect spot to curl up with a book. The well-equipped dining kitchen completes the ground floor accommodation. The layout makes this a lovely sociable space and the large picture windows offers enviable views out to sea to the front and to the garden from the rear. Access to the garden is from the kitchen. As well as an outdoor dining space and bistro sets that you can move with the sun, there is a large lawn area perfect for playing and relaxing. On the first floor there is the main bedroom, an airy double room with large en-suite shower room. Use the binoculars to make the most of the elevated position, you may well spot a pod of passing dolphins! Stronvar is equipped with families in mind, and there is a selection of games and books available. There is a small playpark and community run crazy golf at West Braes which is less than a minute’s walk from the front door and the recently redeveloped tidal pool, one of three in the East Neuk, is a must visit. Even if you aren’t brave enough for a wild swim, paddling, beachcombing and relaxing to the sound of the waves are the perfect way to spend the day. The East Neuk is well known for its vibrant arts and music scene, with a range of festivals and events throughout the year. Fife’s local larder is also well celebrated, with an array of artisan producers providing delicious breads, beers and berries amongst other delights. Still very much a fishing community, there is of course plenty of seafood to enjoy including fish and chips from award winning chip shops, hot smoked salmon from Doig’s fish shed or freshly prepared lobster from the hut at Crail harbour. Pick up field fresh veg from Ardross farm and you’ll have everything you need for preparing a local feast in Stronvar’s well equipped kitchen. As well as wild swimming, there’s opportunities for watersports locally and the East Neuk stretch of the coastal path is amongst the most beautiful with picturesque scenes to take on as you walk from village to village. Popular with golfers too, there’s plenty of courses within 10 miles including the Old Course and Kingsbarns as well as Anstruther- their Rockies hole was voted the hardest par 3 in the UK! Whether you are coming to the East Neuk for an active break or want to switch off and enjoy the gentle pace of life here, Stronvar is an ideal base from which to explore the area further.
