Welcome to Hale Mokulua; an exclusive, quiet and private home adjacent to the spectacular blue waters of Lanikai Beach. With 3 separate living spaces, this remodeled Lanikai home accommodates up to 14 guests. The main house of consists of 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths with an open floor plan, high ceilings, hard wood floors, modern kitchen and a wonderful, covered lanai for lounging, dining and enjoying the warm Kailua evenings. The large loft on the 2nd floor includes a king bed and queen sofa pull-out, private ocean-view lanai and ensuite bath. Two spacious guest rooms on the main level also have ensuite bath. A large yard with a heated, tiled swimming pool and hot tub separates the main house from a one bedroom cottage (sleeps up to 4) and separate refurbished studio (sleeps 2) making this an ideal place for multi-family or large multi-generational gatherings. The white sands of Lanikai Beach are just steps away from this gated and private home. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning making this home cool and comfortable throughout the year.

This house is an excellent rental property. It's at the far southern end of Lanikai where there is almost no traffic, and there is a small beach across the street if you just want to sit on the sand or jump in the water. The larger Lanikai beach entrance is a 20-minute walk north, and the walk to the public beach is a small price to pay for the home's low-traffic location. The living spaces are well appointed, as is the kitchen, and the setting is even more comfortable than implied by the pictures.

My three girls (10, 8 and 6) enjoyed swimming in the pool as well as snorkeling in the ocean from the beach access point, which was 5 minutes from the house. We also enjoyed biking riding in the Lanikai neighborhood as well as to Kailua Beach. Definitely the perfect break from NYC and we left tanned and relaxed.

Ocean access across the street, 0.5 miles to Lanikai Beach, 1 mile to Kailua Beach. The pool and spa is outstanding. The Property Manager (Steven) and Reservation Agent (Kim) are very responsive and helpful. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed our stay at Hale Mokulua very much.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property is perfect for a large group and is in (IMO) the nicest part of Oahu. The website description and pictures are accurate. The small beach across the street is great for a kayak and paddle board and a swim. If you want to have a true "long walking beach" or boogie boarding, the best access is 1/2 mile very easy walk. We were 3 generations and 4 families. Our numbers varied from 11 - 14. The property easily accommodates a big group and provides enough room and privacy for all. There are many provided amenities in the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as outdoors for the pool and beach. The property is very well maintained. The only suggestion I might make has to do with the cleaning robot which must stay in the pool 100% of the time. The vacuum tube takes a lot of space and makes lap swimming almost impossible. That being said, it made ZERO difference to the kids who were the primary users of the pool. I would definitely stay here again with a large group.

Happy Holidays at Hale Mokulua

Our family stayed for a month while our home was being renovated. It was a wonderful from start to finish over the holidays. The home and all the amenities were exactly as listed online. Both the house manager and housekeeper were very good at communicating.We had many favorite spots within the property. One was the front lanai, for morning coffee or an afternoon nap. The 2nd spot was by the pool. It was huge, heated with a long seating area. Loved having the grassy area, grill and ample seating for the entire family outside. The jacuzzi was off and on during our stay and didn't really warm up but it didn't deter us from having fun. I think the manager and pool man did their best to coordinate repairs. The 3rd spot for me personally was the relaxing spa size tub in the big house. My daughter and son-in-law with their two toddlers stayed in the cottages and loved the quiet and furniture that their space provided as well. The proximity to the beach was perfect and we appreciate all the fun pool & beach toys.The kitchen amenities were fully stocked, all high end. We were pleasantly surprised to have a welcome gift of snacks, coffee and tea when we arrived as well.It was convenient to have a washer and dryer in the main house. It might've been convenient to have them on the cottage side too We had cleaning, yard and pool service.The challenges were traffic with road work, T-mobile reception and complicated TV system. Otherwise we had a very Happy Holiday here!

The home accommodated our group of 10 adults and 4 teens perfectly. The main living open floor plan was large enough for everyone to gather and join in on conversations. The two cottages were a plus so that no one felt smothered. House keepers tidied the home twice during our stay, along with supplying fresh linens and towels. The back yard pool and spa were refreshing and entertaining. Restaurants and shopping are a short drive away and the Pillbox Hike is a must even for the inexperienced hiker. The home is NOT fully air conditioned - Be aware only the bedrooms are. A portable fan was needed to help keep the kitchen area cool especially while cooking meals. The nearest beach access, “Lanikai Beach”, that you can walk the shoreline or sit a chair to soak up the sun is a 9 - 10 minute walk from the home. The listing shows a beach access very close to the house, but it is more of a kayak launching area. Though it is an awesome area to watch the sunrise. Overall, we had an awesome time and would stay again.

Reviewer Comments: we had a great time at hale mokulua & loved exploring lanikai beach community. we were a multigenerational family + nanny visiting august 2021.the pros: 1) the property description of the house itself was exactly what we expected - the photos are accurate as is the description. home could use updating but is well maintained for a vacation home2) the pool & hot tub were great. loved the grass in the backyard = perfect for our 2yr old 3) there are 2 mastersuites = great for parents 4) separate apartment = perfect for nanny5) LOVED outdoor shower + front lanai6) rental company was very responsive The cons:1) we felt misled about the location. based on photos, looks like lanikai beach is steps from the home & it's not. It's ~0.50-0.75mi or 15-20min walk, which was a bummer. ended up driving every day after 4pm for free parking & no crowds2) this location is NOT walkable to anything. so if you go, rent a car. 35-40min to Honolulu. Kailua ~7min. 3) don't leave the front doors open at night or you'll have critters (no screens) 4) wished there were more chaise loungers for pool (only 2) so we could all lay out5) spotty wifi. mentioned this to rental company & their response was "you're in the middle of the ocean, what do you expect?" umm. working wifi6) not all TVs are smartTVs7) icemaker & hammock both broke & response time was slow to fixsome tips:1) make sure you are aware when service people come to property. had some issues with them coming onsite without warning2) no onstreet parking3) we asked the rental company about how fully stocked the house was with supplies & they led us to believe it was the bare minimum. We arrived to find it was much more stocked than we expected. On the one hand that was great, on the other hand it led to us bringing a lot of unnecessary supplies4) hammock is only in shade very early in AM & at night5) MOSQUITOS! Bring re

We were also impressed with how incredibly well equipped the property and house were from beach towels, boogie boards, beach toys and other equipment to everything and needed in the kitchen( and more) and then how much we were permitted to use: tiki torches, pool spa, grill. There is only one way in and out of Lanikai and this made the location relatively safe yet convenient to Kailua ( a little construction traffic 8-4in Kailua).The beach at Lanikai is one of the few sugar sand ones on the island. It was beautiful and family friendly at all times of the day and had some decent snorkeling a bit out on the coral reefs. We are missing the sunrise walks on the beach followed by coffee on Hale Mokulua's beautiful lanai.

Incredible location - I could live on the lanai

The home was perfect for us. We were in the main house with our daughter. Our friends were in the cottage and the nanny was in the studio. The cottage is smaller than expected but everything worked giving everyone some of their own space. We hung out for hours on the Lanai and in the grassy/pool area. You can dip in the water less than a block away, but that entry point is more for kayakers. Beach access is less than a 10 min walk down the road, but the walk is amazing. It's Lanikai and beautiful.

We had a great trip, 30 day rental is hard to make happen but led to multiple trips which isn’t the worst outcome. Property and location are great, property management team is responsive. Some areas are a bit dated but on balance it was great.

Reviewer Comments: Our vacation was exactly as it read “on the tin”!We were delighted that the normal wide angle lense photos were not used in this case to distort the reality. The villa was as large as depicted, if not larger. We were all delighted with the size, quality and location of the property.One small negative was the main house only had 3 double bedrooms which meant one couple needed to stay in the larger pool house. They found it to be a little noisy situated next to the pool pump.That said, we (all 8 of us) really enjoyed our stay and a comment made by all related to the volume and quality of kitchen utensils, crockery, glasses and equipment, first class. All linens and towels were quality and in good supply. Often owners cut corners in this regard but not here.The property management company were excellent and Mitchell, the representative, took a very keen interest and even offered to purchase some basic provisions for us on our first day of arrival. A great gesture well appreciated.We would absolutely recommend the accommodation to anyone wishing for a luxury retreat in Oahu.

The house fits well a large family and is also perfect with the two guest apartments in the garden. The pool is large and perfect for both swimming and playing. Modern kitchen and great outside areas. We managed to park four cars in the driveway. A coffee cup on the veranda in the morning followed by a walk to Lanikai beach is a perfect way to start the day.We are also very satisfied with the customer service!

We were particularly impressed with the reminders to take out the trash and how quickly he addressed any issues with the homes. Since we are planning to buy a home in Lanikai it was great to see Steven’s high level of care of the owners’ homes. This rental would be great for a group of people. It’s just one block from the beach and the pool and hot tub are brand new. The beach chairs and umbrellas provided were extremely helpful. The home is very clean and well kept. The decor is fresh and new. We enjoyed grilling by the pool with the lovely tiki torches lit in the evening. What aloha spirit! A big thank you to Steven and the property owners and management!

We had tons of space. The backyard is a dream if you just want to relax and hang out with family. We BBQed almost every night and sat out in the back. Beach is an easy walk down the road. Easy drive to Kailua. The house is exactly as the pictures show. Everything was clean new without being overly fancy / breakable with small kids. 0 complaints and an awesome trip.
