Your winter getaway! The perfect location for skiing, boarding, sledding, ice skating, or hockey! Plenty of room in the 1 car garage to stow all of your gear for your winter adventures! Only a 5-minute walk to the Siskiyou Ice Rink, Shastice Park and Playgrounds or the jewel of Mt. Shasta - Sisson Meadow! The incredible mountain bike paths of the extensive Gateway Trail system are just a couple of minutes away as well. If snow is your thing, the Mt. Shasta Ski Park offers super affordable lift tickets and some of the best skiing in northern California. Sledding is a free option at Snowman's Hill or Bunny Flat.

After your day of fun skiing, boarding, skating, biking or nature watching head back to the cottage to make dinner in the beautifully remodeled kitchen and watch a movie using high-speed WiFi on the large screen smartTV in front of the cozy electric fireplace. Wake up in the morning and have your cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over Mt. Shasta from the comfort of your bed. The view from the front bedroom is amazing! Your mountain adventures are sure to make the memories you want for you and your family.

Decorated with nature in mind we’ve tried to purchase environmentally friendly linens, including organic cottons, down-alternative and bamboo textiles. There is no planet B, let’s take better care of this one!

Better than expected!

The inside of this property has all been tastefully remodeled, nearly new, and nicely decorated by someone with a flair for it. Everything was clean and well maintained, no broken or misbehaving tubs, toilets, or appliances, and all of the kitchen and bath essentials were provided. The location gives easy access to town or to the mountain. The owner went out of her way to make sure we were in the communications loop. Would definitely stay here again, would definitely recommend to others

Mt Shasta cottage well-done!

This cozy little cottage shows all the love owners have given in updating it from a 40s home/footprint to include most of today's amenities. Walk to town, the ice rink and park, plus a great little backyard for little people to romp and play. The updated bathrooms are great but because of the older house layout, one bathroom is in the bedroom area and the second full bath in back of the kitchen. Speaking of which, the kitchen is well-stocked with pots/pans/dishes and has ample space as an eat-in kitchen with a table accommodating six. When just two of us in the house, it was perfect. Having four more (2 adults/2 kids) worked well if you like to be cozy with family. Laura, we appreciated your emails and responsiveness - thanks for the hospitality! All-in-all, we'd stay again!

Cozy, perfect cottage for a getaway to Shasta!

The Chickadee Cottage was exactly what we wanted: a cozy, warm, welcoming home away from home. We love to cook and the kitchen was well stocked and the perfect size. The cottage is located near town, the ice rink, and many different hiking trials. The host Laura has put together a lovely information book with endless options of fun things to do around the area. She was a great host, and responded immediately to all our needs. Would definitely stay there again.

We fell in love with this beautiful area over 15 years ago and decided to move here in 2013. Mt. Shasta is truly a recreational wonderland. Every season brings something fun to see and explore whether it’s hiking, skiing, sledding, birdwatching, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding or swimming in one of the numerous lakes.
Let us know what you’re interested in doing and we’ll give you some great tips on where to go and how to get there. The cottage also has a full binder of local activities.
