Not clean, smelled like moth balls
Christmas decor still up in February, bathroom had a light out, not enough hot water to fill the tub, no spare pillow or bed sheets, no throws to cover with on the couch, no pot holder, no kitchen wash cloth, 1 kitchen hand towel, not near enough silverware, mouse poop in the upstairs room, dead bugs on windowsill, dirty smelly hot tub, no step to help with easy in and out of the hot tub. Bed sheet were thin and stained, no sheets on all the pillows, blankets were rough and old feeling. Just looked like no one had been there in months to clean (Xmas decorations still up) dirty bath rugs and the hot tub and house smelled

Amazing!
We got to the cabin Friday evening. It was easy to find and access. The stairs were a little slippery from the rain but that is no one’s fault. We walked in and it was better than what I expected! If you want to stay at a place that is home away from home, this is the place! It was so inviting and comfy! Beautiful is an understatement! Thought the whole place, are different sayings. That was my favorite part! Next, you really do not have to leave the cabin if you do not want. Just a few steps down the driveway is the little country store! I highly recommend their burgers and pizza! Not only that, everything that you need to cook a meal, is in the cabin. The next best thing is the porch! It rained most of our trip. We sat on the two person swing on the porch and watched the rain and listened to the little creek across the road! It was so relaxing! It is covered so you do not get wet at all! The convenience of this beautiful cabin is perfect! You are a mile or less from downtown! The only bad thing I can say about this stay is that I wished I would had gotten to stay longer!

Not worth it but DISAPPOINTING!!
Do not walk away from this filthy house, RUN! I have to say we liked the location, and convenience to have our pets there. We were very excited for this stay and bought plenty of food to cook while we were there. To our surprise the kitchen was in a very poor state. The microwave is probably from 1990 and rusty, the cooking ware was rusty and I am not sure why they still have them in there. Laundry equipment is old as well. The hot tub was dirty and old. The truth is that for the price this lady charges, she should invest in improving the essential things in the house. My family was very disappointed and couldn’t not believe the scam. I was sad bc I booked this piece of (*house) anyways good luck and stay away from this house, hotel will be by far safer option.

Last minute booking was a life saver
we were booked for another property thru VRBO that cancelled on us AS WE WERE WALKING IN THE DOOR. was able to find this property last minute and was pleasantly surprised. We have stayed all over the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg area but never this area. We were very happy with the location and ease of access to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. This is an older rental and it was like stepping back in time. Well maintained and excellent amenities. Will definitely keep it in mind for future trips. Thanks again to Geri for being so helpful and accomodating to our last minute needs!

I have always loved the Smoky Mountains & my favorite memories when my Daddy would take the whole family there on yearly trips. As a young girl, I can remember seeing beautiful chalets & cabins setting high in those mountains & thought that was just about the coolest thing that I had ever seen! For many years, it has been a dream of mine to have one of those for myself. I now have several mountain cabins & they are all very special to me.

I purchased SomeWhere in Time in early 2017, right after the Smoky Mountain wildfires of 2016. I lost a cabin in those fires that I had only owned for just 6 weeks. had just finished remodeling it inside & outside. I searched to find a replacement & found SomeWhere In Time. Contractors & I worked on it the entire summer of 2017, It has been remodeled from the ground up to the roof.

I really love taking all of all my cabins, remodeling, redecorating & making them very special, cozy & comfortable home-away from home for my guests & myself & my pets to enjoy. Of course, all of them are pet-friendly because I know how important it is to take your 4-legged best buddies along on vacation. Below are my properties:

Why they chose this property

I love the designs of the original Gatlinburg chalets & cabins, Somewhere in Time is an A-Frame design. I was so thrilled to find an A-frame since my Daddy had built a small A-frame on his lot close to Ky Lake years before & that brought back such wonderful memories.

It Is surrounded by beautiful mature trees of the Smoky Mountains & has an ever-running creek that you can see & hear from the chalet 24 hours a day.

Setting high above Ski Mountain Road makes this location so convenient & just perfect for visiting Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge & Sevierville. Shopping, restaurants, events, activities & sight-seeing is just 2 miles away in the very unique town of Gatlinburg.

Just turn right out of the driveway & you will be in downtown Gatlinburg & at the entrance of Great Smoky Mountain National Park is just a few minutes. When going to Pigeon Forge, take the Gatlinburg ByPass to miss all the downtown Gatlinburg traffic.

Now for the most fun way to go to downtown Gatlinburg & leave the driving & parking issues behind, just turn left out of the driveway, go a mile on the same road & dead-end into Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort, park & hop on the glassed-in Arial Tram. It holds 120 people & leaves & returns every 20 minutes from early till late every day. This will give you spectacular birds-eye views of the area & downtown Gatlinburg.. There are trolleys downtown that will take you to various parts of the area.

Bonus is a market/deli next door with groceries, home-made pizza, burgers, beer, beverages. It is so handy to just walk down the driveway steps & be right in the market's parking lot. If you forget that bottle of ketchup, you won't even have to get in the car, just walk down the steps. How convenient is that!

Ski Mountain Road is known for often seeing bears. I watched them almost daily when working on the chalet in the summer of 2017. Many of my guests are thrilled to see the bears & often send me pictures of them in the driveway. I love that!

What makes this property unique

This is one of the original unique chalets on Ski Mountain Road in Gatlinburg. It has been remodeled & redecorated from top to bottom.

The location of 'SomeWhere In Time' is just the best! It is only 2 miles to downtown Gatlinburg & the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, straight down Ski Mountain Road when pulling out of the driveway to the right. And, when turning left out of the driveway, you will dead-end into Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort.

Next door is Chalet Village Market & Deli where you can buy homemade pizza, burgers, beverages, beer & groceries. How convenient if you forget that bottle of mustard!! There are steps leading from my driveway right into the parking lot of the market. They will also deliver to the chalet.

The chalet is furnished with log furniture keeping with the Smoky Mountain tradition.

The covered deck has a huge log swing & rocker to enjoy the natural scenery & keep an eye out for bears that frequently walk thru my driveway & down Ski Mountain Road.
