About this property
Tucked away in a quiet rural village with pub. Great walking and cycling country
LITTLE BARNFIELD is an ideal base in the heart of the Cotswolds for a walking, cycling or exploring break. It's nestled in an unspoilt hamlet with a pub serving excellent food, just a few minutes walk away!
For walkers, there are wonderful footpaths leading from the cottage door and there's safe storage for bikes if you're on a cycling break.
The open plan living area is light and spacious with dining area and comfortable leather chairs. The kitchen is well equipped. A spindled staircase leads to the double bedroom with skylight
( perfect for star gazing!) Both bathroom and bedroom have a sloping ceiling.
The honey coloured villages of Guiting Power and Upper and Lower Slaughter are very near and it's just a short drive to Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Chipping Campden and Broadway. Cheltenham is easily accessible, making the cottage a great base for Gold Cup Week. It's about an hour to explore the dreaming spires of Oxford and some guests arrive having already booked seats for the Royal Shakespeare in Stratford

About the host
Hosted by Anne

I have lived in the village now for three decades and for twenty one of those years have loved sharing the peace and tranquillity of my home, which sits next to the cottage. Over the years, its been my pleasure to welcome guests from all around the globe. Many have made return visits to Little B from within the British Isles and from the Netherlands, Germany and as far away as Australia. So its great to know that memories have been made of time spent at my little cottage!
Why they chose this property
I moved here to indulge my love of walking, when I'm not working in cities, and I'm still totally captivated by the beautiful countryside that surrounds my home - and in all seasons. It's a very quiet location that is disturbed just occasionally by the clop of a horse on the lane down to the river - it's rather like being on holiday!
What makes this property unique
Little Barnfield is very quiet - except for the owls and wood pigeons!
There is a stable door into a lovely, mature garden with roses, ferns, large ash tree and seating area and "John's bird table" has lots of varied visitors!
The garden is overlooked by my home and is entirely for the use of guests to enjoy while staying at Little Barnfield.
I have another large garden to enjoy at the front of my home.
