The central position and locality to the harbour area and beaches were the attraction for us. However , parking is extremely difficult and I feel this should be reflected in the pre arrival information . It is many years since we visited St Ives and could have made parking enquiries before our arrival , instead of the stressful search for a space . We did utilise the Rugby Club which provides parking at a very reasonable rate compared to the other alternatives . It is very steep walk though from the cottage after you have dropped off your bags etc . Apart from the parking issue and the noise from the nearby pubs with the seagulls dawn chorus at 5am , we did enjoy St Ives .
