About this property
2 Bed in Whitby (oc-r579)
This beautiful stone cottage is hidden away among the narrow cobbled streets of Robin Hood’s Bay and is full of historic character. With a wood burner for cosy winter evenings and a shared garden in which to sit out on sunny days, it makes a comfortable and relaxing escape for couples or families with children over three at any time of the year.
Set over three storeys, this lovely property features old beams, exposed-stone walls and sash windows. Its open-plan living area is a homely and appealing space, with leather sofas and armchairs gathered around the wood burner in an inglenook fireplace. A TV, DVD and iPod dock will keep you entertained after dining at the farmhouse-style table. The kitchen is set around a corner of the room, raised up by a step, and its cooking facilities are complemented by a fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and WC in the outbuilding at the front of the house. The double bedroom is on the first floor, a charming room decorated in pale, neutral tones for a calm atmosphere. The spacious bathroom, a good-sized room with a separate bath and shower, is on this level, too. A winding, cottage-style staircase takes you up to the second-floor bedroom, which has three single beds tucked under sloping ceilings. When you hanker for some fresh air, the shared garden with a bench seat will provide a peaceful moment.
Robin Hood’s Bay is a little gem located on Yorkshire’s Heritage Coast and on the edge of the North York Moors - a paradise for walkers and nature lovers. It slopes steeply down to a historic dock and a dog-friendly beach which is great for rock pooling and fossil hunting. Pubs, cafes and restaurants are dotted throughout the village, as well as some lovely independent shops.
