About this property

2 Bed in Blakeney (oc-1889)

Character, comfort and a historic coastal location: this beautiful Blakeney cottage has all three. Interlinked bedrooms make this an ideal setting for a couple, small family or close friends; bring a canine companion and you can enjoy stunning walks and even a boat trip to see the local seals.

Formed from two fisherman’s cottages built in the 1850s, this delightful holiday home is full of characterful features including exposed beams, traditional pamment floors and a striking double-sided wood burner. Enter via a stable door and you’ll find a handy utility area leading into the contemporary kitchen/dining room where there’s all the self-catering essentials and a wood burner to add a warm glow to mealtime gatherings. On the other side of the chimney breast you’ll find a sitting room complete with sofas, a Smart TV, DVD and DAB radio, plus stairs to the first floor. A WC completes the convenience of the ground floor. Upstairs, an inviting twin bedroom gives access to a similarly styled king-size bedroom which in turn leads on to a pretty family bathroom with a beautiful view across the marshes. There’s a small enclosed courtyard area with a bench to the front of the cottage where you can soak up the sunshine and sea air; a table, chairs and charcoal BBQ are available for guests during summer months.

The cottage is around 400 metres from the village centre and free car park. Once you’ve unpacked, you can enjoy a variety of walks – follow the North Norfolk Coast Path for a mile and you’ll be in the neighbouring village of Morston, or stroll to Blakeney Quay and you can catch a boat out to Blakeney Point to see the resident seals – well-behaved dogs are welcome on board too. For some old-fashioned family fun, the sandy beach and bustling quayside of Wells-next-the-Sea is 8 miles away; the neighbouring Holkham Estate has its own famous beach, stately home and nature reserve.
