About this property
2 Bed in Port Mulgrave (oc-t29066)
Switch off from the humdrum of everyday life in this delightful coastal bolthole in the tiny hamlet of Port Mulgrave. The property sleeps four guests and is perfect for couples and small families looking to explore the quaint fishing villages, clifftop paths, and rugged beaches along North Yorkshire’s coastline. From Port Mulgrave it’s easy to visit the seaside town of Whitby, as well as explore the inland walking trails of the North York Moors National Park.
The stone-built former stable sits within a small complex of similar holiday homes. Inside, discover a warm and inviting retreat that’s full of period charm, including exposed beams and whitewashed stone walls. After a coastal adventure, sink into the sumptuous sofas in the characterful lounge to watch the Smart TV/DVD or chat about your day. From here, move through to the cute kitchen/diner, where you can create delicious feasts using local ingredients to share together at the farmhouse-style dining table. The two inviting bedrooms are upstairs, both of which have been tastefully decorated and feature charming exposed beams and stone walls. The family bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, the shared, enclosed garden is a real suntrap and has furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining.
Port Mulgrave is a quaint hamlet with a friendly pub and a small beach. The area is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, and you can hunt for fossils on the beach and in the cliffs around Port Mulgrave. The hamlet sits on the long-distance Cleveland Way and there’s a lovely 4-mile circular walk that you can follow to nearby Staithes, taking you along the national trail and also across fields and through ancient woodland. Staithes is a picture-postcard fishing village with colourful cottages, cobbled streets, and a good range of pubs and restaurants.
