Once the town`s Auction Room, this spacious one-bed retreat has been reimagined with a love for Danish hygge. Mid-Century Modern design sits effortlessly alongside heirloom Danish pieces passed through Lilli`s family.
The spacious apartment features a double bed, walk-in shower and full kitchen, thoughtfully arranged to flow around a calm, central living space. Make this retreat your home as you discover Whitstable’s treasures.
Spot the beautifully preserved linen cupboard and rocking chair from Lilli`s great-great-grandmother, and don’t miss the wonderfully eccentric copy of the Bayeux Tapestry—faithfully reproduced (naughty bits included!) by her cigar-smoking, whisky-drinking `Oldemor` (great-grandmother).
To gently define the apartment’s zones—from shower room to bedroom—integrated pocket and concealed doors allow the space to unfold with a sense of calm, comfort and quiet intention. For your convenience there is a dishwasher and a Miele washing machine/tumble dryer.
When she’s in town, Lilli starts her mornings at Windy Corner Café, grabs hot donuts from The Forge, a bite at Wheelers for lunch and finishes the day people-watching at The Neptune—affectionately known as “the pub at the end of the universe.”
Blending cherished history with warm, modern comfort, we hope this home makes your heart sing—perhaps even like Aqua’s Barbie Girl (Denmark’s most famous pop export… though we agree they probably should have stuck to furniture design).
