Top Cottage is a bright and welcoming family friendly, dog friendly holiday cottage set in the heart of a working fruit farm, just minutes from St Andrews. Surrounded by orchards and open countryside, its the perfect place for families to relax, explore and enjoy a memorable Scottish farm stay.

The Cottage offers comfortable accommodation with plenty of space for families and their four legged companions. Its sunny setting makes it ideal for relaxing after a day out exploring nearby beaches, coastal walks and the charming fishing villages in Fife.

One of the highlight of staying at Top Cottage is the farm experience right on your doorstep. Guests are located beside the popular Cairnie Fruit Farm, cafe and family fun park, where children can enjoy outdoor play areas and season activities, while adults relax with great coffee, home baking and fresh local produce.

Despite is peaceful countryside setting, Top Cottage is perfectly located for exploring the area. The historic town of St Andrews - famous for its world-renowned golf courses, beautiful beaches and independent shops - is just a short drive away. The cottage is also less than an hour from the vibrant capital city of Edinburgh, making day trips easy.

The fruit farm is busy during the school holidays and over Halloween, so if you are looking for a quieter setting, please do book either Lower Lodge or The Barn

Hilton has been in the family since the 1940s, and we live in the main house. The property is surrounded by our arable land and our neighbours fruit farm. Please feel free to walk around the edges of the fields where you will often see horses being ridden from our livery yard. We launched the 3 properties in 2025 after extensive renovations, and we are thoroughly enjoying the challenge of a new enterprise.

Why they chose this property

Fife is and incredibly easy place to live in Scotland, being only 10 miles from the coast, 9 miles from St Andrews, the home of golf and an hour's train journey into the centre of Edinburgh. The Scottish Highlands can be reached within 1.5 hrs, so there are a huge number of options for entertainment.

What makes this property unique

Top Cottage is south facing, with wonderful countryside views, including The Lomond Hills. It has an enclosed garden, so children and dogs are safe. It is well equipped and both the Super King bed and the King bed can be separated into single beds. In addition to the bathroom, there is another WC beside the front door.
