This was one of our favourite stays in the UK. Incredible views and a clean, well-stocked home with everything we needed. Including a travel crib, high chair, and a couple of stuffed animals for our child. The sky lights were great for star gazing too. The host stopped by to introduce himself and was very kind as well. Would definitely recommend.
We had an excellent stay. The view over the mountains and water was genuinely beautiful. Waking up to the water and mountains each morning made the stay feel very peaceful and distinctly Highland. The apartment itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the quiet location. The check in process was straightforward, communication was clear. Parking was easy.

Beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly located.
We had a wonderful one week stay at Solas Alainn! The chalet is more spacious in person than the photos depict, but is ideal for 2 people. It was bright, clean, and fully equipped with everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. The kitchen had plenty of storage for food and the full stove was great for cooking. Every single window has the most incredible views. Storm Beolo rolled in during our stay which was quite the experience! Mark and Charlyn were excellent and attentive hosts, going above and beyond.
The location of the chalet is perfect for seeing many of the popular sights without feeling like you’re in a touristy area. The Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, An Corran, and Quiraing are all less than 15 minute drive (and a short walk to the beach). Portree is a little under 30 minutes drive. There are two little stores and the Hungry Gull within walking distance as well. It was about a 45 minute drive to Uig (go to lunch at the Stein Inn!) and 1:15 to west coast villages. Every drive is through beautiful scenery, so you hardly feel the time pass.
Don’t hesitate to book this special place, you will not be disappointed.
