About this property

Sweet little cottage in prime location

This is a swell little cottage on Lake Michigan a mile or so north of the Port Sheldon pier, inside the gated Mountain Beach community.
I'm renting by the week--Saturday to Saturday.
The master bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom also has a double, plus bunk beds.
Also, the living room has 2 double futons.
There is only one bathroom, but I've added an outside shower.
The cottage is old, but the mechanicals are up to date: I recently installed a new water heater, new toilet, air conditioning, etc.
Of course if you know the area, you know there are many great restaurants and bike paths.
You may use my sit-on-top kayak, my kite, my frisbees!
There's great biking in the area, and I may be able to supply you with bikes upon request.
The point is: I'll do whatever I reasonably can to make your stay enjoyable!!!

Charming cottage with a million-dollar view

This is a lovely and charming little vintage cottage, circa perhaps 1940s, right on the shore of Lake Michigan. A fabulous view, and very cozy and comfortable inside with all the kitchen and linen and other necessities you might require. Nicely decorated. Host is attentive and responsive and goes the extra mile to make guests happy. You have to slide a couple feet on your bum from the ledge above the shore to get to the beach itself, but so worth it! Some of the beach has eroded due to high water levels but there is plenty left for sun-bathing, wave-jumping, shoreline walks, etc. I was here in late September and the water was still warm! (It got colder later in the week.) About 20 minutes drive to Grand Haven, 25 to Holland. (I swam at the Holland Aquatic Center. ) Oh, and sunsets! And storms. We enjoyed both, and hope to stay again next year (maybe a week or two earlier to get warm water the whole week;)

Great location for a family vacation

Tom was so easy to work with. He responded quickly to my never ending questions. He made it his mission to make my stay at his cottage as enjoyable as possible - he even arranged for 7 bikes for our family to use. He also dug out the pathway to the beach! We had 7 adults stay there and it worked out just fine with the two futons in the living room. I was worried about the one bathroom, but with the outdoor shower, it wasn't a problem. I've been looking for a budget friendly beach front property for our family vacations and I think I found it. I'm hoping to make this an annual trip! Thanks Tom!

Charming home.

This is a great little cabin for a couple or small family. The October weather (wind and rain) didn't allow us to explore the beach, but nevertheless we enjoyed the wonderful lake view and amazing sunsets. Tom was very responsive to our needs. We would definitely recommend this property.

Cozy cottage with a fantastic location!

My family and I loved our stay at Tom's cottage. We spent most of our time at the beach or on the deck enjoying the easy access to Lake Michigan. My daughter loved running back and forth from our "Michigan House" to the beach. Tom was very accommodating and made check in and out seamless.

Amazing view

We experienced peaceful fun- filled days on the lake. Wonderful private beach walks with beautiful sunsets and evening beach fires. The cottage is tucked away in a secluded cozy spot with a sandy path filled with butterflies and humming birds on your way to the water. The outdoor shower was a wonderful experience with lots of hot water! Our favorite times were spent on the deck reading, eating, and gazing at the beautiful lake.

Sweet stay in the sweet little cottage

We very much enjoyed our week at the sweet little cottage. It provided us everything we expected and needed for a beauty week on Lake Michigan. It is in a prime location between Holland and Grand Haven and the pier provides protection to the beach so we had plenty of beach for the family to play. We will definitely return for another stay in the future.
