Silver Lake Mid-century Nestled in the Treetops
Big, open floor plan with wrap around windows feels like you are sitting in the trees! This top floor of this mid century gem sits up in the hills tucked into the end of a quiet cul-de-sac so feels private and secluded yet you are minutes from all the great restaurants, bars and shops that Silver Lake has to offer. Fast wifi.
Nice open feeling with mid-century furniture, contemporary art, and great hardwood and stone floors throughout.

Parking is street parking. Because we are at the end of a cul-de-sac it is unusual to have trouble finding spots right in front and no alternate side cleaning days to worry about having to move your car. Please be sure to respect neighbors and pay attention to the no parking signs!
*Note that while there are just 2 steps to get into the house itself, the back yard is 2 flights down.
Whole Foods 365 and Trader Joe's are around the corner. Enjoy a walk around the nearby destination Silver Lake Reservoir or take your dog to the dog park.
Central heat and air conditioning with Nest wireless control. You can adjust thermostat between 68-72°. If that range doesn't work for you just let me know. The living room and bedrooms all have ceiling fans for additional comfort.
The 2nd living room can function as a lounge area with tv or be used for overnight guests as needed. Simply remove the back cushions on the memory foam day beds and they become 2 twin XL beds with all necessary sheets, pillows, comforters, etc.
Sharp 55" LED Smart 4K Ultra HD RokuTV with internet access to stream your favorite apps. You can also download the roku app to your smart phone and watch tv with your headset to not disturb others. Fast Wifi throughout the house.
Beds are non-toxic Tuft & Needle, super-comfy mattresses which use a proprietary adaptive foam that has similar pressure relief to memory foam but without the drawbacks of excessive heat and insufficient support. They were one of the first 'mattresses in a box' to be tested by CertiPUR-US and has been certified by UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification and OEKO-TEX that the mattress is free from 'ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates, and low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).'

Laundry room inside the house with washer and dryer with non-toxic Puracy laundry soap.
Tankless water heater so don’t worry about running out of hot water for showers.
Closets are empty for your use with plenty of room and hangers. Empty suitcases can fit in the back of the closet or under the beds which have a 14" clearance.
Large backyard, completely fenced in, with many different types of trees and areas to sit and enjoy.

The house sits up in the hills so feels private and secluded but you are seconds from great restaurants, bars, and coffee places. Whole Foods 365 is around the corner and Trader Joe's and Gelsons are 5 minutes away. Enjoy a walk around the Reservoir or take your dog to the dog park.
Silver Lake is home to 53 Historic Stairways. The Ivan Hill Glendale stairway - 10 houses down - leads you right down to Glendale Blvd. Cross the street for breakfast at Modern Eats coffee shop, turn right to walk a couple blocks to 365 Whole Foods and take a Lyft back with groceries or turn left to head to yoga or pilates.
Lyft is a great way to get around.
Downtown is 10 minutes away by car and you are near the 2 and 5 freeways and the 101 is close as well.

There is an exterior security camera near the front gate at the street entrance and also on the lower deck near the downstairs entrance.
House Rules:
-Guest who is booking is responsible to make sure all other guests are aware of the house rules -Self check-in is from 4pm on and check out by 11am. Will be flexible when possible. -Guaranteed 2 hr early check in or 2 hr late check out possible for additional $50/fee to arrange for additional cleaner. -Keyless entry with keypad. -All guests must be registered and only registered guests may reside at the property. Because of occupancy rules if you are planning on having visitors we need to discuss ahead of time. -No shoes on indoors to help prevent the spread of Covid -Additional guests over 4 are $30/nt per guest. -Stays 28 days and over will pay an addtl $135 every 2 weeks for cleaning. -No smoking inside or outside the house or open flame of any kind due to being in a very high fire risk area. City fines are $1,000 for violations and guest agrees to be responsible for any fines. -Property has an outdoor security camera at the street entrance and at back of house for safety. -Parking is street parking only but house is on a cul-de-sac so not typically a problem. No street signs so no need to move car once parked. Keep car locked and to not leave valuables in your car. -Lock windows and doors when leaving and turn off heat or AC -Guest will give Owner prompt notice if anything is wrong or not working properly. -This is a non-toxic house. Owner will supply all cleaning products. -Well-behaved pets are welcome pending prior approval and an additional $125 for 1 pet, $200 for 2, and $250 for 3. -Guest agrees to be responsible for any damage other than from reasonable wear and tear. -Any excess garbage or cleaning required at departure will be the responsibility of the guest. -Please do not rearrange furniture. -Not suitable for parties or events. -No amplified music outdoors and no noise after 10pm. -No roof access -Shall be used as a temporary residence only. No commercial or illegal activities. -No weapons, explosive and easily flammable material, no open flame or fireworks. -If Guest needs to bring more than 2-3 suitcases must be agreed to in advance in writing. -Please do not remove any items from the house -Guest agrees to pay $500 for violating any House Rules per violation.

The host was welcoming, responsive, and super helpful!The house was open and gorgeous with so much beautiful sunlight. Parking was not a problem at all. I had a beautiful time with my family. Heather was magic. Could not have asked for a better experience!
We had a great stay at this spot with our two children (3 and 5). We loved all the light, the tree's, the proximity to some great places to eat. Would definitely stay here again! Lots of nice touches, very comfortable for our family of 4.
The house was a great home base for our LA trip. Our main purpose was for a dodger game and the house made getting to and from the stadium very easy. The house had everything we needed and we loved the MCM vibes. Heather was very easy to reach and accommodating.

My sister and I enjoyed our stay. The house was located in a quiet cul-de-sac and parking was never an issue. Great location centrally located. Lovely views of the mountains and it was like staying in a treehouse.
My friends and I enjoyed a nice weekend at this mid century furnished house in silverlake. The property definitely has a mid century vibe and parking was easy to find. We walked to Blair’s for dinner one evening and it was a terrific neighborhood Italian place with great food and wine.
Totally as advertised. This spacious serene space was delightful, well appointed and convenient. If you like this part of LA this is definitely a winner. Heather was great at every stage of the process!
Comfortable house close to many of LA’s top spots such as The Groove and Hollywood. Modern furnishings within walking distance to Starbucks and Whole Foods. Take a hike up the Silver Lake stairs to the reservoir.

Host was very nice and easy to reach.
Had trouble with tv service and was constantly kicked off. Host was quick to help.
The house was as advertised: in the Silverlake neighborhood, which has easy access to freeways and a number of interesting neighborhoods. 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to Silverlake Reservoir. Relatively quiet location near end cul de sac street overlooking Glendale Blvd. Nice mid-century modern decor, furniture, windows etc
Heather’s house is located near the end of a quiet dead end street. Open, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The house overlooks a busy street but you wouldn’t know it (except for distant traffic noise) because the large windows look out into the trees of the beautiful backyard. Very walkable; Whole Foods is a short walk or drive away. You can walk around Silver Lake Reservoir and it’s surrounding hilly neighborhood. Heather answered questions promptly. Kitchen well-equipped, great shower head, comfortable beds with quality linens. Highly recommend!

This is a beautiful mid-century house that's tucked up on a little street above the hustle and bustle of Silver Lake. It has one of the nicest kitchen set-ups of any rental property I've stayed at – super stylish dishware, tons of pantry and fridge staples. It was really nice to have a chill, comfortable place to hang out amidst all of our various city outings and our dogs LOVED the woodsy backyard.
This home is absolutely beautiful! I would have moved in if I could. The two living rooms, dining room, and open kitchen provided ample space for us to gather with friends. All with beautiful views. The house was tastefully decorated. The beds were comfortable. And Heather was very communicative to set things up optimally for us. We travelled with our one year old. He enjoyed crawling around the open space and I was happy that there were outlet protectors, baby plates, and even bibs available. Great location, too. Definitely recommend.
First I want to thank the host for accepting such a last minute reservation. The place beautiful, the scenery is beautiful, the peace is beautiful and the neighbors were very welcoming and pleasant. I would no I mean I am going to be renting here again. In closing if you looking for a place to relax take in the city and still come back to a home that feels like you are at home. This is it. Once again thank you Heather for everything and opening your beautiful home to strangers. This is not a regular Vrbo.
