Ocean House #1206 is a west corner gulf-front 3 bedroom 3 bath condominium located on the 2nd floor in building I overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. The unit is approximately 1300 sq ft with views of the gulf from the living room and gulf-side master bedroom. The condo has a fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. There are 3 full baths with either a tub/shower combo or stand-alone shower. The gulf-side master bathroom is accessed via the bedroom and hallway. The street-side master has an en suite bathroom with garden tub and shower and the middle bedroom has an attached bathroom with stand-up shower. Sleeps 8

Ocean House I and II are 9 story buildings with 6 units per floor located 1 mile West of Highway 59 in Gulf Shores. Ocean House has a large seasonal zero-entry outdoor pool and small kiddie pool. The property also has a grilling area that services both buildings I and II. Minimum age required: 23

Parking passes are purchased on-site at Ocean House at guard house or office located in building I - CASH ONLY. There is a maximum of 2 parking passes per unit and cost is set by the association and is subject to change at any time without notice.

This rental comes with our 'Stay and Play Package', which includes complimentary tickets to the best area activities including; golfing, deep sea fishing, dolphin/nature cruise, amusement park, zoo and movie rentals. Each rental comes with our "Stay and Play package." Some restrictions apply.

Love Gulf Shores

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Just completed our 7th year in this condo and we find it perfect for us. One flight up and lots of privacy from the balcony. The only problem with this 2nd floor condo is that it's pretty cold, especially the floors when it's chilly outside. Could use some new balcony furniture and the range in the kitchen is definitely on it's last leg.

Our stay was decent. We really couldn’t enjoy the balconies because the air never got below 75 degrees despite trying to turn it down so didn’t want to open balcony doors and let our only little bit of cool air out. The far bathroom shower was clogged. The distance to the beach and pool were great! The beds were comfy! The space definitely accommodated our family. Having a bathroom with every room was great! Difficult keeping condo free of sand as vacuum didn’t work right it blew the sand back out as you tried to vacuum.

Ocean house condo

The condo was nice but the shower head in the front bedroom needs to be replaced and it would’ve been nice to have more outdoor seating options for the balconies. The current furniture is outdated and not very comfortable. Also, I would suggest providing a pitcher so guests can make lemonade or sweet tea. The condo sleeps more like 7 rather than 8. The pull out couch was very small for two people to use. My son said that he found sand in his bed the first night. Overall, we had a great time. The check in/check out was very simple and the location on the beach was great!

Family vacation

We had a wonderful time . The codo was very clean and we loved the pool area. Only complaint i had was the garbage disposable was backed up and the front bedroom bath didn’t drain good . Oh and the board over the kitchen cabinet fell off. Call for repairs to be made but nobody showed up . I would definitely rent again .

Also the floor in the condo was filthy. I had to mop it 3 times before it was clean.

The only thing I would have changed it the lock on the door still uses a key and dead bolt. That is the only way to make sure door is locked probably time to upgrade to a keypad. The pool is a zero entry and one of the biggest pools by the beach. The unit was clean and well stocked with the items we needed to get us started. We did have an issue with some electrical in the front master but it was reported. The unit was on the second floor and had a great view of the ocean. Our family really enjoyed it.

Location was superb, but misrepresented the property on renovation details.

Loved the location, but was told in pre-arrival communications that all renovations were complete in this unit and the building, and when we arrived, we had workers on balcony to gulf view, and balcony was completely closed. I would have selected another property if they had given me accurate information.

They wouldn't help us!

Told us middle bedroom had a leak at check in and floor was damp. When we got there it was saturated. Leaked the whole time. Repair man came out once, blamed us and was rude, did nothing. We had to move the people out of that bedroom to the living room due to meldew smell. Half eaten chips and dental floss was laying on one bed. Location great though. We just needed it fixed!

Reviewer Comments: The condo is in a great location and looks nice but needs some work. When we arrived, the disposal backed up into the other side of the sink. The bathtub in the beach front room didn’t drain correctly. The master garden tub was turned into a shower and not done correctly because water would flow out all over the floor. We had to use lots of extra wash clothes and bath towels to try and stop this. It’s clearly been a problem for a while because there is damage to the floor and wall near it. I’m sure there has to be mold in there. The worst part to me was that there is clearly a roach problem! They were everywhere! We killed at least 20 while we were there. I would not recommend this property!

Bad customer Service

the amount of money to stay here and all the problems we had with the room and service was a sadly mistake & it was stressful and upsetting vacation . I was not able to enjoy my family and the shrimp feast. My daughter in law and I get there Tuesday no ocean view the palm trees were so grown up and dead you couldn't see a thing. 2nd the next day we wake up 2nd bedroom had water leaking on the floor which was carpet. we reported they sent someone over and they left us a dryer for the floor. So I paid a large amount for a 3 bedroom / and my 28 year slept on a sofa and 3 adults shared 1 bathroom. Not to mention the washer and dryer did not work it shook and made such a loud noise the maintenance guy mentioned the unit having a lot of troubles but could not do anything with the busy weekend. Which I tried to understand but it was the only 1 vacation we could work in to be together in 3 years so I'm very upset and the fact that gulf shores rentals never called me back after Wednesday and we left Sunday that is not away to do business. They can offer you hundred off your stay well check out the rates that I paid for those days. They do not work for customer service period.

We like the decor and the convenience of just walking one flight to and from the parking area. Only complaints would be that a table on the balcony would be nice and some better frying pans.

Great location but lots of roaches!

The property was in a great location. Because it was only on the second floor we took the stairs most of the time. When we needed the elevator it was very fast. The condo had plenty of room for the 6 of us and was well stocked. However..... there were many roaches of varying ages that we saw daily. They were on the kitchen cabinets and in the pantry/closet. I contacted the property manager via their "fix-it" form and requested a response. I never received one. If it wasn't for the roaches we would stay at this condo again. We never saw any roaches in the bedrooms or bathrooms, only the kitchen.

Family Vacation

Very very disappointed in this unit at Ocean House. I have stayed at this condo complex for 19 years and never had a problem. This particular unit had German roaches very bad. I reached out to management complex to assist and they did respond very fast. They sent a maintenance man with spray from a local hardware store to spray baseboards and such. I assured them that will not kill them. We went to buy our own Raid roach spray to kill them on contact. The roach motels were not even working. They were crawling all around them. We could not leave anything on the floors for fear we would be taking them home. Everytime we cooked we had to clean all counters and wash dishes prior to use. The drains in the sinks and showers are very slow drain as well. I hope the owner of this unit sees this and can correct this issue. This will definitely hurt there income.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is roomy - and is well equipped in the kitchen if you should want to cook. We did not. Location is great for traveling up and down the strip to dining out. The beach is not a wide one so for older people it is easy to get to. The pool area is nice. Even though we were on the second floor it was quiet. Now the condo could use some updates. Twin mattresses need to be replaced. If it were me I would figure out how to put a king in the front bedroom, queen in the center bedroom and two doubles in the street side bedroom. It would be more practical. Less furniture in two of the bedrooms would accomplish that . Who needs a love seat in the bedroom at the beach. You could not ask for a nicer rental company to deal with while on vacation. TVs were a challenge. Hint- front bedroom tv is controlled by the light switch. No instructions at all on anything in the condo except the arm bands. Wear your arm bands - security is on the ball and will ask you where they are. Did see a bug - but the bug man came by and sprayed on one of the days we were there. All and all we had a wonderful time. But again some painting and deep cleaning is due.
