This was an absolutely beautiful setting. The house was wonderful, was well kept and had everything that I needed. I would highly recommend this to anybody who would enjoy being out in the woods away from the crowd.
Gerry was great. She met us when we arrived. She was very nice and let me know where the fishing was best in the creek. The cabin is fantastic. Everything thing you need is there. We caught plenty of longears and smallmouth bass!! Very fun!! Will be back again. Thanks so much
I've visited this cabin several times. The host Geraldine is like family to me. The cabin and atmosphere is awesome but the fact that I have such a good relationship with the hostess makes it loke going home every time I go. You won't find a better person as a hostess anywhere. The cabin is pet friendly and the property it sits on is very beautiful. The creek that runs the length of the property is so peaceful and if you like wading in the creek it is quite the experience. I would recommend this spot anytime. Especially as the place to spend the week ir weekend if you prefer with that special someone. But don't take my word for it. Book it for yourself and experience the beauty and quietness fir yourself. It is also close to town and if you're the kind that likes to hike there is a state park about three miles from the cabin.
We go back time after time for the beautiful property! The trees, the water, and this time...the beautiful snow that made GREAT photos! Gerry and David are wonderful hosts. And the cabin is quiet and cozy! It's my husband's "HAPPY PLACE", so we'll definitely be back!!
We had a wonderful stay. It was everything they said it was. We were looking for a secluded place to stay and it was indeed secluded. Beautiful, picturesque, quiet. The dogs loved being able to roam the property and use the creek to cool down.
very secluded property but easy to find. Pretty property and a very nice weekend weather-wise. Arrived late evening on Saturday and had dinner and watched some TV. Sunday we were planning to hit National Park nearby, but ended up just staying there enjoying the grounds and reading, and relaxing.
The property was amazing, last house at the end of the road surrounded by a wandering creek and cows! The cabin was just as described and perfect fro our needs! We were close to state parks, which is what we wanted. We will be back to enjoy this very special place!
Very private, large acreage property accommodates for the family dog and those who love nature! We spent most of the time outdoors by the fire and walking along the creek! It was very quiet and relaxing! Lots of shade courtesy of the black walnut trees, hillsides and the bluff running along the creek. We'll definitely be back!
It was far more than we even anticipated - we expected cleanliness but we couldn’t even IMAGINE the beauty and privacy of this cabin in the woods!!!!! We plan to go back for sure!
Gerry and David are ALWAYS attentive to our needs - I love this cabin on the hill in Spencer Indiana on Ooley Road! One thing you may want to check and we never mentioned it in the 12 days we were there is the bedroom lights quit working the day we got there - no problem as there were other lights - Our second time staying here - we will be back
It has beautiful surroundings and is one of the most peaceful places I've ever seen. Gerry, is one of the best people you'll ever meet. I've been there several times and am looking forward to going again soon.
The grounds were lovely and we spent a lot of time exploring. Our dog had a great time, so did we- beautiful hiking nearby and we loved Owen Valley Winery, also very close.
The cabin is great, we really didn't need to leave much! Fabulous location for the 2024 Eclipse.
My wife and I and our 2 dogs love it here!! Stayed again for 14 days. The time went so fast we requested to stay a 15th day, which we did. Geraldine and David make you feel like family. Already booked for next year!!
The cabin in the bluffs was a fantastic place to base out of for my attendance at the Indiana University football game. All the amenities were in place and functioning, and there was a great supply of both cooking utensils, and equipment that I was able to use while there, the wildlife in the area around the cabin is absolutely spectacular. I heard Bardowl’s both nights and saw deer every day as well as wild turkey one of the days. Great host and great communication
Beautiful home, beautiful woods and lush green meadows surrounding. The property manager was great! If you get a chance, stop by the adjacent field and say " howdy" to some friendly Owen County cows.
Lovely, spotlessly clean, well-appointed, terrific views every direction, quiet and serene. Interesting reading material around. Great table for eating or working or writing or doing a jigsaw puzzle 😊
Geri was available as needed.
What a great spacious cabin to stay in as a couple with or without pets. It’s close to the parks and Bloomington. It was listed with 0 bathrooms but had to dig a little to find it actually had a half and a 3/4 bath. Pictures of those would have eased our fears but otherwise a great place to stay.
Stayed 3 nights in Oct 2024
