This was our second stay, and easily one of the most favorite rental properties. The house is perfectly located, very secluded and peaceful, tastefully and comfortably furnished, with plenty of space to spread around, fully stocked kitchen, and very responsive and accommodating hostess.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The house has every possible item we could desire from a blender to a Smor Station for the fire pit.
Very comfortable for our group with 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. We look forward to staying here again!!
Our family had a wonderful weekend at this well-stocked and beautifully appointed lakeside house. There are plenty of outdoor activities for all ages and interests...kayaking, swimming, fishing, or sitting by the fire pit. Curl up in one of the cozy rooms and enjoy the gorgeous water views. A highly enjoyable time was had by all. We hope to once again visit this magical place.
I rented this beautiful home for some high-profile artists. One said "It is just beyond beautiful here...an idyllic place to create." The house was immaculate upon arrival. The owner is incredibly responsive to every request. It has everything you want for a cozy getaway. Couldn't recommend it more.
I've rented here many times for artistic guests, this time for 9 weeks. Everyone raves about the house...the layout, the comfortable beds, the well-supplied kitchen, the quiet, the gorgeous views out of every window. I've stayed in many house rentals and this ranks at the top. Thank you, Lisa and Gregg for being so welcoming and such great hosts.
This is the third time we've rented this home. It is gorgeous - such a peaceful setting. Lisa is incredibly responsive to any request. Luckily, everything was so perfect we rarely were in touch during our 9 week stay. You can read more about everything I loved in my other reviews below. Couldn't recommend it more.
We had a wonderful stay on the lake. We are a large family group and this property had everything we wanted. Very comfortable and well appointed with a great location!
The home and surrounding property are beautiful; exactly as pictured. The home was spotless and very roomy. Having 2 king beds, a private suite with a double bed and a total of 3 baths was a plus for our guests. The beds were very comfy. There was a view of the lake from almost every room. You can't swim in the lake due to lily pads, but we enjoyed using the two kayaks that were provided. The owner was very attentive and responsive. The property is a perfect base camp for excursions to hiking trails, museums, cruises and historical sites. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return.
This house has a spectacular location, situated on a peninsula on a quiet lake in Pine Plains. The house has views of the lake from almost every window and it has a well-stocked kitchen. I rented it for 8 weeks so that artistic guests visiting here could work and relax. Every one of them raved about it. The owner is incredibly accommodating and responds quickly to the smallest request. I can't recommend this home more.
Perfect place for a group attending the 2021 Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck. Not only was the house conveniently located, it was perfect for a group of 6 adults-plenty of room! Beautifully located on a small lake. The owner was nearby and responsive to questions.
Just a lovely place to stay!
The house sits on a peninsula that creates a nice private oasis. Spent a lot of time by the water and lounging around outside. Plenty of room and a nicely stocked kitchen that made hosting people very easy.
Stayed here with both sets of grandparents to attend local graduation. The accommodations were excellent, very private, lovely location and beautiful lake with access to kayaks and nearby trails for hiking. Communication with owner was excellent, would definitely rent there again.
This property is amazing – very peaceful and secluded, located on a private peninsula. Variety of birds on and around the lake and other wildlife sightings for nature lovers. House is comfortable, plenty of space to spread around or have a together time in the common areas. Ms. Rita was very responsive and accommodating to all our requests. We absolutely loved spending time there.
We had a great 2-week stay at this beautiful and well-stocked home. It was a very lovely setting. Being on the lake was pretty and peaceful. The house was very comfortable and tastefully furnished. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
This was a nice cozy home with lots of character! The whole property was amazing and felt very private. The views of the lake are great. The owners were very helpful with any questions. Definitely recommend and hope to be back soon.
When the four of us walked in to this cottage we immediately felt at home. Comfortable furnishings and a view of the lake to die for! We immediately set out to go sit on the dock. When the family of swans swam by we could not believe how beautiful and how lucky we were to be witness to this.
The location is extremely convenient to historic sites. And the surrounding countryside is wonderfully bucolic.
Kitchen facilities are great and we loved being able to eat in the sunroom with a clear view of the lake.
This is a beautiful property and we loved it!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rental. Rita was very helpful and responsive. The house was clean and nicely appointed. Plenty of room for two families. As the listing says, the "Casita" room with the double bed has an outside entrance. It can also be accessed from the house by going through a sitting room, walk-in closet, garage, boiler room and finally a bathroom. Neither of the couples wanted to sleep in the double bed and none of the kids were keen on being so separated, so we ended up using that room as the kids tv room (Roku tv was great so the kids could watch a movie while the adults enjoyed the firepit). We put the crib mattress on the floor of the sitting room for our six year old and it worked out fine!
The lake is beautiful, but is not a good swimming lake (a little disappointing since we were traveling with three kids - but I should have done my research first). The lake has been taken over by lily pads - it's very peaceful and a great place for a solo kayak (two single kayaks and a row boat were provided). If you're still, you might see some turtles swimming by your boat. There were several people out fishing on the lake and one local fisherman showed the kids the large mouth bass he caught - the kids we're thrilled.
There is a swimming beach with a lifeguard just down the road at Stissing Pond (you could walk or drive). It wasn't crowded on a summer weekend and there is a dock the kids can swim out to and do cannonballs off of. Unfortunately, the lifeguards didn't really seem keen on working and everytime the kids got out of the water for a snack or bathroom break, they would flip over the no swimming sign and head to the far end of the park to hang out. We had to keep retrieving them when the kids wanted to go back in.
Stisson Mountain Fire Lookout is a great little hike nearby - a steep mile up and then a climb up the 86 ft tower for an amazing view. I highly recommend doing it at sunrise!
We also went to a few local breweries. Sloop Brewing at the Barn is a great place if you have kids in tow.

Beautiful place/location
We had a wonderful time during our stay. Rita was great with providing us timely communication. The area is quaint and the breezes and view are wonderful. We were in town for a short weekend to attend my sons graduation from a local college. We will be looking for a time to come back.
