Shady Oak Cottage is a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath vacation rental home located in the Tilghman Beach section of North Myrtle Beach. This pet friendly home got its name from the BIG BEAUTIFUL OAK TREE in the front yard and is walking distance to the beach. It has a fenced in area for the doggies to roam in and out of the screened porch at the front of the house and the back of the house has a big patio with a grill and chairs for relaxing after a long day in the sun . Shady Oak Cottage is the perfect family vacation getaway; comfortably sleeping 11. The first bedroom has a queen bed and TV. The second bedroom has a queen bed, 2 twin beds, and TV. The third bedroom has a double bed, 2 twin beds, and a TV. The fourth bedroom has a queen bed and TV. There is a living area, dining area, and kitchen with dishwasher. This North Myrtle Beach rental has basic cable TV, a DVD player, free WI-FI, washer/dryer, and a charcoal grill.

This is a non-smoking house and does allow motorcycles and or trailers. GOLF CARTS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY, so you can rent one, just ask us for a company nearby.

Just a short drive away, you will find favorite tourists attractions such as Carolina Opry, Alabama Theater, Legends in Concert, House of Blues, and Pirates Voyage. Kids and adults alike will be intrigued by Wonder Works, the Myrtle Beach Sky Wheel, Ripley's Aquarium, the Wax Museum, Alligator Adventure, and Grand Prix. One of the Best Vacations

Shady Oak Cottage was perfect for our family: Pet friendly, fenced in back yard, screened-in front porch, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, large living area. All made for a very enjoyable vacation, plus being so close to the beach. We definitely will book again!

Perfect for family

We truly enjoyed our stay. Our toddler grandson stayed with us. There was plenty of room for nap time. We were one block away from an uncrowded beach. We were 7 miles away from Calabash, NC. It wasn’t fancy, but the house really fit our needs. Also, we had a dog.

Spacious and Roomy

Great stay, perfect distance from the beach, plenty of yard space for the dogs as well as playing cornhole. The large tree is wonderful for shade. Plenty of seating and sleeping space, very clean and had a lot of little extras, hand soap in the bathrooms, dish soap and other necessities in the kitchen. The only downfall thing is there’s no dishwasher and some of the house and furnishings could use some updating. Overall very pleased and will probably book again.

Favorite spot!

Loved our stay in the Shady Oak Cottage. It was so nice and roomy. Basic, but met our needs. Did not realize there was not a dishwasher, assumed it, I guess. The kitchen was nicely stocked, however, with needed items for cooking and such. I also appreciated the paper products and other left over supplies like salt and pepper, which I forgot, left behind by others....we also returned the favor! It was the perfect location and my entire family enjoyed our stay and the comforts of home, very much. To include our dog...she was very content while there. The fenced yard and screen porch was a bonus! Will keep this on my list for future visits to the area. Hope to call it home, one day. ;)

Great stay!

We were very satisfied with our stay at shady oak! The location was awesome! It was a short and easy walk to the beach! The fenced in yard was a definite plus for the dogs. The house was so roomy! We enjoyed the house and would definitely stay again for a future vacation.

The Oak

The property was spacious and accommodating !! Wish there was a bit more care with in the house and outside ( screen porch was a great space but there were cobwebs everywhere and we had to sweep the dirt up. The grill was so dirty we had to go out and purchase things to clean it) the interior was comfortable.

Outdated, but very clean

Very clean property. Quite outdated, but for the cost, and cleanliness you can't beat it. Very close to the beach, about a 2 to 3 minute walk to the beach. Supplied plenty of linens. Large backyard.

Great location! Block away to quiet beach.

The best part of this property was the location. About a 2 block walk, depending on your speed to less crowded quiet family oriented beach. Another plus was the open spaces in the house, great for families and our pets to spread out. The fenced backyard was a main reason we rented this property because of our dogs, which was perfect for outdoor time. The house is the oldest looking property in the neighborhood and the house is worn out a bit inside. Definitely could use some updates on the beds, some furniture, some kitchen appliances. Stains on bed mattress/sheets, curtains, stove was hard to handle with more than one burner on. If you need a modern new beach house then this might be a deal breaker. For us it was perfect for our family of 6 and 2 dogs. It was clean when we arrived, AC worked well house was cool whole time, plenty of beds/baths, and again location was everything. The beach, all types of stores, restaurants, everything you need in a great neighborhood. Our family will hopefully be back.

i am very diappointed with vrbo, this stay was not what we expected we payed at least 2,000 dollars and it was outdated looked like the seventies and of course paying that much we thought the beds would be made but no on our vacation we had to make the beds also they at seaside were very nice when we checked in super nice told me if I needed anything to just let them know and if the tvs didn't work just call them our tv in the bedroom did not work so I called them the next day they told me some things to try I did it still didn't work I ask them to send someone out and she said no so I said you are not going to send anyone out she said no and that was the extent of our conversation also paying that much we left the house in very clean condition and I still have not got a deposit back so I guess you live and learn what places to trust and what not to hope the owners get this information because if seaside had treated us better I would pr;obably rented again and told others about it

Great Stay

The place was very open inside which we really appreciated. It also had a split bedrooms with two on one side and two on the other which was great for us! We really appreciated having a dog-friendly space with a fenced yard. We really enjoyed it and would definitely stay again.

Great location and loved having a pet-friendly home!

The location of this home was perfect for a quick walk to the beach. Loved being able to bring my pup along with me and have a nice, safe home to stay in. Perfect, quiet neighborhood. The management company, Seaside, was very friendly and responsive.

Family Vacation

Our family had a wonderful vacation and the house was perfect. We had more than enough space and no one was tripping over each other. The walk to the beach was short and the little ones had no problem. The table was big enough for our annual card games, too! All in all one of the best family vacations!

Great place for family vacation with dogs!

Large fenced in back yard with easy access to hoses for rinsing off sandy feet and paws. Really nice screened in porch with ceiling fans. Quiet neighborhood - one block from the beach. There is a large pond in the neighborhood with ducks, geese and turtles. Large kitchen/living/dining/TV area. Linens were included which was a really great feature. Working with Seaside Vacations for key pickup and drop off was a breeze. Planning to return next year.
