Come and breathe the fresh mountain air in our brand new Casita in the redwood forest. Glamping in style - our Casita is situated on a ridge overlooking the summit of the Santa Cruz Mountains; The Casita is completely private and separate from the main house. Enjoy the view with a glass of wine on the front porch. Walk out front door to trails through the redwoods. Excellent restaurants in small, quaint town of Felton, home to majestic Henry Cowell State Park. Or drive 20 minutes to Santa Cruz.

Best for couples who want a peaceful nature-filled getaway. Not kid-friendly. Very private with a stunning view of San Lorenzo Valley. Close to all Santa Cruz has to offer - Mountain Biking, Surfing, Hiking, Beach Volleyball, etc...
La Casita is a small, heated comfortable space with a sleeping loft and a queen size mattress. NO BATHROOM IN LA CASITA. Bathroom in main house.
A ladder leads to the loft and one has to be limber to access the loft. Futon sofa in living space turns into a full size bed. Access to main house guest half bath. The hot shower is outdoors next to Casita.

Perfect getaway

We loved saying at La Casita to attend our friend’s wedding in town. It was perfect for our needs as we love nature and being outside. We enjoyed hiking/running at Henry Cowell and the outdoor shower was perfect to clean up. As other reviews have stated, climbing up to the loft bed was a challenge and it would be difficult as a larger individual. Views were perfect.

VRBO directions were impossible to find location

The location was amazing. I was unaware that the cottage didn’t have a dedicated sink or toilet and that the outdoor shower had no hot water. We were also unaware that there was going to be a PROM party until the wee hours of the morning on our first night. The view was amazing and we made the best out of our stay.

Perfect for our needs!

The mattress was extremely comfortable and the outdoor shower is to die for! Pictures don’t do the views justice. The Casita is exactly as described— not for anyone that would have difficulty climbing up and down a ladder into a shorter space ... we felt it was absolutely charming. We despise hotels because of the complete lack of privacy once outside the confines of your room. Thank you for creating this beautiful space... we will be back someday.

Come for the view, nothing else

Yes, the view is great. However, the accommodations are not. Unless you're a professional contortionist, the bed will invoke nightlong nightmares of getting into and out of it. The zero head clearance will have claustrophobics running away screaming. Have to pee in the middle of the night?, better to wear adult incontinence briefs than trying to run the gauntlet of getting to a tree, let alone the toilet down the hill. The toilet and sink are located inside the owner's home, down a steep and winding trail. Hope you like camping neighbors; there are other guest facilities on the grounds that you must pass through to get to this casita. If you like ping pong, don't expect to play it here - where is that ping pong table??

Super charming casita!

We really enjoyed staying at the casita, there are fun things to do in the area and Connie's guide is really helpful. The outdoor shower was great and the loft bed was fun! Our one suggestion is curtains for the doors and windows, it feels pretty private since the casita is tucked away but the option to close curtains would be nice.

Amazing location, cozy casita

The Casita was just as described, but words cannot do justice to the location. What a view! Getting up to the lofted bed was not easy and I would not recommend for people who have ladder trouble. But I would highly recommend for everyone else.
