About this property

Private and quiet mountain getaway.

Beautiful 2018 one story 2BR/2BA cabin on 2 1/2 acres with a nice view. Completely furnished. Central heat and air, fireplace, granite counter tops with stainless steel appliances, gas grill, outdoor fire pit, internet, and Direct HDTV. The driveway is wide and there is room for a small trailer if you are up here for the Rally in the Valley or Thunder in the Smokies or if you want to enjoy some of the best ATV riding areas around.

As far as location goes you can't do any better than this. Only 1/2 mile of good gravel road takes you right to Highway 19 with close access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. From there it's your choice - 4 miles to Maggie Valley; 4 miles to Water Rock Knob (highest point around with views of all the high mountain peaks; 4 miles to Black Camp Gap - where you will always see lots of Elk; 12 miles to Harrah's Casino; 15 miles to the Smoky Mountain National Park or 25 miles to Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountain Railway.

Four-wheel drive or AWD is recommended to access the area from mid to late November and throughout winter months when there is snow or ice on the roads. The gravel road to the cabin is privately maintained and is a one lane road with pull-outs to allow oncoming traffic to pass. It is recommended to drive cautiously on the gravel road to the cabin.

The mountain cabin is awesome-highly recommend.
The only problem I had was that the door would not lock by just pressing the white button.as per the instruction sheet. I had to punch in the code, pull the door closed tighter and then turn the lock.

Great Cabin - Great Time
We very much enjoyed our time and the cabin was just the accommodations we needed. Purpose of our trip was to take my Dad (87 yrs old) to visit his relatives and to visit his homestead in Waynesville Ratcliffe Cove area. We shared quality family time, played games and watched movies. Thank you again for enhancing our stay with your beautiful cabin. I highly recommend it to others. If I had one suggestion I would recommend a few food storage containers for leftovers. Thanks again. We hope to enjoy your cabin again in our future.

Beautiful Cabin with great views
My spouse and I had a great, relaxing stay in this cozy cabin. It is spacious, well equipped and has breathtaking views of the mountains. The owner was very friendly and responded quickly to every inquiry. We would gladly come back again-highly recommend!

About the host

Hosted by Mike Jordan

Host profile image
This cabin is owned by two brothers, Mike and John Jordan, who grew up in Florida but spent every summer roaming the hills and playing in the creeks of North Carolina. Mike had a career in the Navy and John is a retired law enforcement officer. This cabin is their retirement joint venture and they have enjoyed building it and outfitting it so others can enjoy it as a cozy retreat. John spends his summers in a house nearby the cabin and actively manages the cabin during the summer months. He is a short ATV ride away to meet the needs of our renters. We hope those that stay in our cabin will kick back and enjoy the slower pace of staying in a remote area or as we like to call it "living on mountain time".

Why they chose this property

The area around the cabin has many gravel roads where you can ride your ATV and see beautiful scenery.

What makes this property unique

The cabin is in a very private setting with only one other cabin nearby.
