The private beach features good swimming for children, fishing, a pier and floating raft, beachside fire pit and picnic tables, hammocks, canoe, 2 kayaks, and a row boat. Plenty of beach toys and life jackets can be found inside boat house. 
Garage has a pool/ping pong table, foosball table, and a small air hockey table.
Bring your bikes and ride the 40 mile newly surfaced Kal-Haven bike trail just minutes away.
We are only 15 minutes from the tourist town of South Haven with beaches on Lake Michigan and many shops and restaurants.
Nestled among the oak and beech trees, this 5 bedroom, 3 full bathroom sleeps 12 (plus some mattresses for additional floor sleeping).  Bright open floor plan and large living room with wood burning fireplace comfortably hosts large groups. Off the living room is a cozy library area which provides for intimate conversation. Dining room table seats 12 and next to the dining room is a screened porch with picnic table.

Spacious updated kitchen has microwave, dishwasher, and full range of appliances and place settings.

The space was great for the number of guests we had. There is a beautiful view and plenty to do on the beach. The downstairs bathroom, however, was not clean at all. I had to clean it from floor to ceiling so that we could use it. One of the upstairs bathrooms also had significant mildew in the shower, and there were lots of cobwebs through the kitchen and living area.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Beechtree house. My grandchildren called it the "Holiday House" because they were on 'holiday'. The property is beautiful and the kids loved the beach. We buried some ‘treasure’ in the sand near the swings for them to find. The decor is inviting and all the labels on the light switches and cabinets was very helpful! Number of beds and bedrooms/bathrooms were adequate---towels were fluffy!! With the exception of a few personal preferences, overall our stay was relaxing, close enough to 'things to do', and well worth the price to stay.

Great weekend family retreat

Great place to get together with a large group. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay for the weekend. Lots of activities to do including games, bonfires, kayaking, etc. Beautiful view of the lake. Peaceful and serene. Property owners were excellent and a dream to deal with.

Lovely, peaceful retreat!

It is as lovely as it looks in the pictures--spacious and in excellent condition. The lake is beautiful, swimmable even for little kids, and it's an easy drive to Lake Michigan for a daytrip too.

Very clean and cute home. The kids had a blast on the canoe and kayaks. Grill was a bit outdated so we opted to use the wonderful kitchen instead. Very close to South Haven.

We had 2 families (4 adults & 6 kids) for a long weekend. Everyone loved the house!! Plenty of space, indoors and outdoors, for all to keep occupied. The kids loved the beach and all of the outdoor activities. The house was very clean and stocked with everything we could have asked for. I would definitely recommend the rental to others and would stay with my family again. Great location too!! So much fun so close the house.

Great place

The house is very nice and big! The beach area was great for the kids to swim and play in the sand. Enjoyed the activities in the garage as well. No problems whatsoever, didnt need to contact the host once. Really enjoyed our stay!

Thank you for your suggestions! We will be sure to get rid of the ants. Yes, lily pads make adult swimming difficult! Some guests who want distance swimming take a boat to the center of the lake where there are no weeds. Frontier is the only internet option here, and they do go out from time to time -- unplugging the modem and then plugging it back in has fixed it every time.

Great family vacation!

This lake house is great! It's very kids-friendly! They had toys (both indoor and outdoor), high chair, pack n play and even bathtub toys! Lots of space! The only thing that could be improved is WiFi.

We have used our home as a retreat place for many of our friends for over 20 years so it is well equipped to handle large groups. We live in Chicago, but our good friend, the contractor who built the house, lives nearby and is available to handle any emergencies.

What makes this property unique

Turning into the driveway on our first visit to the property in 1979, a sense of peace settled on us as we drove through the long row of trees. By the time we reached the house and saw the peaceful lake, we knew this was the "retreat house" we had dreamed of for ourselves and our friends from our church. We remodeled the house in 1996, adding the "great room" so the house could accommodate large groups. Over the decades, numerous families have used this for family reunions, and there are countless children who consider this their home away from home.
