About this property

Experience lake life at our 3-bedroom beachfront cottage, near Grand Rapids.


Silver Lake is one of the premier all sport lakes in West Michigan with 225 acres. Only 5 miles from downtown Rockford and 16 miles from downtown Grand Rapids. The sandy bottom beach is great for swimming and water activities. A newer 20 foot pontoon boat with a 60 hp engine is available for rent. I also have another larger property on the lake 12 houses away that is VRBO #710565.

The updated cottage has about 1200 square feet with 3 bedrooms, two on the 2nd floor and one on the main. 2 recently renovated full baths, one with a shower and the other with a tub/shower. Two 9 foot sliders provide a great view of the lake. The cottage has newer furniture, beds, and most everything you need for your stay except food.

The outside has a huge deck overlooking the water with only 5 steps down to the grass/beach and a large brick outdoor fireplace with Adirondack chairs for relaxing around a fire. The property comes with 2 kayaks, 2 stand up paddle boards, and a paddle boat. Sand toys for kids, corn hole, horseshoes, and life-jackets are included.

A pontoon boat is available to rent. Inquire about pricing. Insurance and gas is included.

There are numerous recreational activities in the area, including parks, bike/hiking trails, and skiing. A variety of shops and restaurants are located nearby.

This is the 2nd property that I have available on the lake. If the dates are not available that you desire, please inquire about the other property. This Property is sometimes available as a 6 month rental in the winter. The property is generally a weekly rental Friday to Friday in the peak summer weeks.

The home was very comfortable and offered everything we needed. The host had it well stocked with essentials and everything was clean and organized.I have family in Rockford and we wanted to stay somewhere close to them. Being on the lake was perfect and we loved being able to enjoy time outdoors with them. The pontoon boat was a bonus. Also loved the oversized deck area and the bonfires at night. It really was the perfect home away from home-I would not hesitate to return!

Not only did the host have literally everything we needed to support a fabulous stay (dishes, utensils, beach towels, life jackets, cups with lids, etc), all the cabinets, drawers, and light switches were labeled so for ease of use. The house has multiple smart lamps and tables (what a great detail). And the lake!! Top notch. We enjoyed every moment. Brian was an excellent host. We truly appreciated his quick responses.

What an amazing property! We were in town for Chris Stapleton concert. Brian was so helpful and he has great communication with the guests. We have Family in Grand Rapids and they had so much fun with the paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boat! I have stayed at a number of rentals and this one was nicely stocked. Should I ever need to stay in The Grand Rapids area, I’m booking this property. 7 cousins that had the best time!!!

Perfect Getaway

We had a great time. The home is laid out well and has everything we needed. It was nice to walk straight out to the beautiful clear lake. We relaxed, fished, grilled, boated, swam, and even took in the downtown area and restaurants. We plan to book again in the future.

Perfect Lake Vacay

My husband and our two kids had a wonderful week enjoying lake life. The cottage was exceptionally clean and did not have the typical "cottage" smell. Silver Lake was a perfect size for kayaking and paddle boarding, and we all enjoyed swimming and relaxing by the water. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return again next year!

Silver Lake cottage vacation

We rented the cottage because we wanted to spend some time with my elderly mother who lives about 6 miles away. The kids always had something to do, kayaking, paddle boarding fishing and riding on the paddle boat. We also enjoyed the pontoon boat. My grandson caught a fish off the dock and was thrilled with it. Brian was a great host and we plan on coming back next year. We traveled from Arizona and enjoyed the cooler weather. One day my mom baked cookies with her great granddaughter. Yes, we had four generations together at times, making great memories. Thank you Brian.

We didn't get to enjoy the lake because of the reason for our stay and it was definitely not the time of the year for it. The places are beautiful, we stayed in both of his cabins for our wedding. The first night I was in the larger one the second night I went to the smaller cabin where my husband was. The night after rehearsal we all ended up at 1 of the cabins for a little while, then they kicked him out at 11:59. Haha it was big enough for 14 of us to visit in until we split again so he couldnt see me. Even since before I booked Brian was there to answer questions, when we didn't need as many to stay he was helpful in taking the amount of people that I booked (I booked full for both cabins) and making sure everything was great. I'd definitely stay again. Next time in warmer weather though to utilize all he has to offer. So clean and helpful! Thanks again Brian!

Fall weekend at a Michigan lake

Lake home in a lakefront association was very peaceful. We enjoyed kayaking, nice weather and grilling on the outdoor living space. It was quite accessible for our blind 93 year old and she was able to enjoy the family event without needing stairs.

Excellent family beach spot

The property was perfect for our lake vacation! The home is right on the lake. The rooms are clean. The bathroom has great water pressure and hot water. Everything we needed was right there. My daughter loved all the sand toys. I loved have a kayak, paddle board, and sitting out near the water in the morning and evening. We had a wonderful stay!

Why they chose this property

This is one of the best lakes in West Michigan and close to Rockford and Grand Rapids. The house has everything you need, new furniture, large decks, and wonderful sandy waterfront. Has the feel of a property up North but close to everything you need. Also rare to find a property that has a pontoon boat available to rent.
