Rustic two-story cabin on creek with covered bridge and water wheel...

This rustic two-story newly renovated cabin is right on a creek with a covered bridge and water wheel. There is a new mini split system for heating and air conditioning with remote control thermostats. You can sit on the covered porch and listen to the creek or wade in the creek and be splashed by the water wheel. Located just 15 minutes from the Harrah's Valley River Casino or beautiful downtown Murphy and just a short drive to John C. Campbell Folk School. There is a propane grill outside with table and chairs for outside dining and also Adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the creek. There is a fire pit with wood so you can enjoy a nice fire and roast marshmallows. From the downstairs living area, you can look out the windows and enjoy the view of the creek and water wheel. There is a foosball table, DVD player and movies for rainy days, board games and a smart TV with WIFI. The kitchen has a full-sized refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink. There are plates, silverware, glasses, coffee pot and coffee cups so you can prepare meals if you wish.

Loved this cabin! It had everything you might need. Super clean & the wheel was the best. Great location & quite. They left us fire wood for the firepit & a surprise of a Smores kit! Great hosts.

Best stay ever

I can’t count the number of places I have stayed with vrbo but I just stayed in my favorite of all of them. Advertised perfectly and is som much nicer than the pictures can even represent owners live nearby so if you have any needs or questions they are right there. Don’t miss the opportunity to stay here as it will book fast. The water wheel was the highlight for us.

Summer visit

We visited our son, who odds working at a local summer camp. This was a lovely base for our exploration of the area. The host was very prompt in communication and had many special tickets throughout the house. The creek, waterwheel, and landscaping around the property were wonderful.

Peaceful creek and waterwheel!

Our family loved our stay. The owners provided a smores kit to use with the fire pit. Lots of firewood provided as well. We played in the creek and enjoyed eating outside. Lots of things to do around the area. We even saw a black bear across the street the last night we stayed. Definitely enjoyed our visit.

We absolutely loved the cabin. It was so peaceful sit outside and listening to the water. We had come to the Murphy area to celebrate my birthday. There even was a birthday banner. Thanks so much! Would highly recommend.

Amazing getaway

We stayed for 5 nights and it wasn't long enough. The kids thought the water wheel was the best thing ever and the PS3 was great for our rainy day. We would definitely go back.

Best cabin ever!

My wife and I and our mini schnauzer wanted a little get away not too far from Nashville. The cabin was great! Very clean, cozy, and well stocked. They included some special touches like ingredients for s’mores that made it even better. The location was beautiful! Many hiking trails nearby. The most unique part was the stream that went through the property and the water wheel. We sat out on the balcony and enjoyed the view of it and the stream every morning. Highly recommend!!

Creekside Heaven

I cannot express how much my husband & I enjoyed this place. The cabin is lovely and the owners add so many wonderful & personal touches to make it feel like home. Everything you could want/need is ready to go in the cabin. The cozy setting inside & out was beyond our expectations. Sitting by the creek with the fire, cool breeze, sounds & sights of Fall all around was beyond PERFECT for us. This place is definitely at the top of our re-visit list. Plenty to do in and around the town(s), shopping, nice restaurants, hiking, casino, and lots more. Our only regret is not booking for a longer stay.

Perfect little cabin!!!

This cabin is beautiful and so cozy. We had planned to visit some nearby attractions but ended up just playing the games available in the cabin, grilling food and watching the creek and water wheel. Our daughters were more than happy just playing by the creek. Totally enjoyed the foos ball table. You can close your eyes and pick a dvd to watch, it was stocked with only the good ones. Clean and SAFE!! Easy checkin process and we did not have to contact the hosts for any reason during the stay. All needs were stocked! Thank you, we will certainly visit again given the chance!!

this was hands down the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. the cabin was beautiful, the sound of the water wheel combined with the very comfortable beds provided the best sleep ever. The fact that it was pet friendly made it even sweeter. It is difficult to find such an incredible property that allows 3 dogs without outrageous fees. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace was awesome. The area was great and the hosts provide an extensive book of things to do. The crazy thing is we had another property booked but the host canceled because of a chimney fire. So we found the best place ever by accident and at the last minute. We are already planning on next year!!

This was our second time staying at this cabin. It was as enjoyable as it was 2 years ago. We love the gas fireplace as well as the fire pit outside. The water wheel just outside the bedroom balcony is icing on the cake.

True Relax

The photos of this property do not do it justice! We loved everything about this place (my bad knee disagrees after the steps for a few days lol). We had rain the first night, and the sound of all of that rain on the water wheel was the most relaxing sound to sleep to. We also had a lot of fun playing Foosball during the rain! The hosts provide everything you will need, and they even left us a sweet treat to enjoy during our stay! Definitely a great experience. We hope to be back soon!!

We both grew up in Murphy and attended Murphy High School together which is where we met and dated for a while, later to meet up again, marry and so far live happily ever after. We enjoy working on projects, spending time with family, spoiling our two grandboys, ages 15 and 11, and keeping up with all the ballgames and events they are involved in.

Why they chose this property

We would like you to come enjoy our cabin. We have so much love for the cabin as we call it; from the beginning of construction by our father/father-n-law, when he was developing the property in the late 1980's up to present day after our renovating. We love the location by the creek and enjoy walking over and listening to the water wheel while we sit on the covered porch at times when it is vacant. We lived in the cabin for almost ten years until one day the property across the road was in foreclosure and we were able to purchase that piece of land and later build our new home. The cabin holds many dear memories for us and our families and we hope you enjoy your time here.
