Beautiful location. The boat had plenty of room for our family. We really enjoyed the kayaking on the canal. The owners were very friendly and easy to deal with.
The houseboat was comfortable, fishing was better than expected and the water was so clear! The owners are very friendly and made the experience memorable. We would definitely return!
Paula and John were amazing hosts. This weekend away was just what our overworked souls needed. The boat was beautiful, the setting perfection. Early morning coffee and fishing off the back deck. Kayak trip down the canal and top deck sunsets. Cannot wait to come back!
Grandmother, daughter, 2 grandchildren. We enjoyed our stay and were sorry it was so short. The owners are lovely and interesting people. The surroundings were very peaceful. Staying on the boat was a nice experience. We did miss the internet but managed with our phones. We would like to return next season.
We both needed this and it was just we both needed.
Neither one of us ever stay on a houseboat, so what a great experience for us to share on Carrie’s birthday. We both enjoyed the down time.
Thank you ☺️
My son and his 3 friends had a great time here. They enjoyed fishing in the canal, using the kayaks and were able to borrow the small motor boat. John was very helpful in suggesting places for them to explore. Only concern was one night a stranger walked right into the boat very much startlingly them. So maybe lock up at night.
My boyfriend and I took a little trip up here over the weekend and it was amazing! The property is located in such a beautiful and peaceful little campground community with activities on and off the grounds. The stars at night from the top of the boat were indescribable. I'd come back 10000 times. We were really sad to leave. 15/10 recommend.
Also Paul is a lovely/knowledgeable host. She recommended a winery/cheesery to us and it was SO good. She'll point you in the right direction!
John & Paula have a little piece of paradise. So tranquil. My family & I had a wonderful time kayaking the canal with John's tour learning some of the history of the area. We also kayaked on our own totally enjoying the scenery. We had a great time at the evening camp fire meeting other guests. It's close to Genevea with it's wineries , breweries , restaurants & attaractions. We will definitly return next summer?
Fun couple of days on a houseboat in the Finger Lakes! Be prepared for a "glamping" experience. Though the mattresses were super comfortable, there were no linens (COVID restrictions I believe). There were pillows, but I'd bring my own.
The layout is cool, and the fully stocked kitchen meant we could prepare our own meals. I love that there were kayaks readily available and the owners had great recommendations on place to go in the area.
My only issue was the smell- damp, moldy, and in the middle of the second night, I had an asthmatic reaction. It literally smelled like something rotting, the smell from behind the fridge. We moved it and discovered a vent, and the smell was GAWD awful. Sadly we had to cut our stay short by a day.
I have faith that the owners will have resolved that in short order (if not already), as it was early in the season. The place could use a good deep cleaning (moldy stuff in the bathroom for sure), and some new pillows.
None the less, we had a great couple of days in the area.
John and Paula were amazing host. Paula showed us around their beautiful property. John had a fire set up every night. John tells wonderful stories about the area. If you get the chance come and enjoy a unique experience with these two amazing people. We will be back.
Unfortunately due to an unexpected family issue we were unable to make our vacation to upstate NY. Paula and John were gracious in offering a later date but that did not align with our schedules. Communication prior from Paula and John was informative and friendly!!
I absolutely loved staying in this houseboat. It had everything needed for our vacation stay. The back deck in the canal was my favorite spot for the week. Clean and comfortable. Paula and John were wonderful hosts for us because we were never in this area before. The tour with the pontoon boat was amazing. So much beauty, wildlife and history for this military family Kudos to Captain John. I found a turtle at home and your legend will live on in PA. The permanent residents in this communal setting were very nice and helpful. Everyone in the area was so friendly. We definitely would return to the houseboat with a better fishing attack planned. Thank you Paula and John. Next time...arts and crafts and singing around the fireplace. Sidney loved her stay as well. Stsy just the way you are because it couldn't have been any nicer. The entire Wise family 👪 ❤
