This is our 7th return visit to this cabin and couldn't be happier every time! It is SO private and peaceful and comfortable with hours of hiking right from the property. The host is amazing and we are already planning our 8th trip!
Great place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life! Far enough away to not worry about neighbors but within driving distance of so many places. Visited Washington DC, drove the skyline parkway through the Shenandoah forest and went into West Virginia to see the George Washington National Forest and the Seneca Rocks! 2nd time coming and already planning our vacation for next year to come back! Host are great and communicate regularly and will take care of any issues! Absolutely love this place!!
We brought 3 generations of family from Colorado ages 6 to 88 to enjoy this property and had the best time! House was cozy comfortable and spacious. Outdoor space offered coverage from the rain we encounter the first 3 days of our visit and the host was superb. Will definitely be returning again when we return to VA to visit extended family.
The Mountain View was beautiful, with a welcoming host. Me and my family had an amazing relaxing weekend. Highly recommend!…

Everything was great except we were only given two towels for the whole weekend, and the downstairs toilet was clogged prior to our arrival and no plunger was available.

TO OUR FUTURE GUESTS, please be assured we do not provide our guests a property with clogged toilets at check in, but we do ask if one becomes clogged during your stay, to please let us know so that we may have a plumber sent out, in lieu of us having to discover it ourselves after checkout. We do not expect our guests to work on our toilets and do not provide plungers.
We are also not equipped to offer a daily linen change. We hope you'll join us, we have a beautiful property, we work hard on our offering, and are responsive hosts
Another great stay in Star Tannery. Small upgrades to WiFi and the grill enhanced the experience. We got a special delivery of cinnamon rolls that were a hit with the whole family. This is our yearly destination when we want to get away and go to the mountains.
Amazing. Lots of room to take puppy for exploring and near fun hike. Scenic property and drive. Gotta try Blue Winged Frog Restaurant. Incredible!!! VVery clean and accommodating to dog people. Comfy and perfect for the pressure of the day to day to seep off.
Amazing stay and amazing property. Has all kinds of things to keep entertained and tons of comfortable places to relax. Nice and peaceful and the host was great with communication.
This was such a fun cabin to stay in. such a beautiful house on a beautiful piece of land perfect for dogs so much running room. there is a trail straight from the house into the national forest it was so much fun waking up and going hiking. the river next to the hike was absolutely gorgeous. the whip poor will birds calling out at night were so peaceful. the town 28 min away is just the cutest. there is a farmers market on the way to the house we stopped at. such an amazing vibe. we loved all the games and the views were just spectacular. 10/10 stay will definitely be staying with you guys again!!
