About this property

Spacious Local Historic Landmark in Old Town Fort Collins

This accomadating ground floor flat is perfect for a visit to Fort Collins. Delightful for CSU events, restaurants, breweries, backyard enjoyment and relaxing in a classy space. Located across the street from Library Park, all the Old Town activities are an easy walk away. Your vehicle(s) will be securely parked in our off-street parking lot with an automated gate. One member of the family owners and your hosts, Griffin and Carley occupy the flat on the second floor and will provide excellent service and assistance. The house was built in 1902 and has been fully renovated with modern plumbing and electrical service including a fire suppression system in the basement.

The flat has a Victorian flavor (9ft. ceilings) with a large floor plan that includes an oversized kitchen, dining/family area, formal living room with a gas log heater/fireplace (that can be converted into a hide-a-bed 3rd bedroom), two bedrooms, one with a luxury foam king bed, the second bedroom with a luxury queen bed. The formal living room has an attractive brickwork mantelpiece, built-in bookcase, chair and picture rail, and Victorian wall covering. The entry foyer is unique with a round window, Victorian-style flooring, and wall coverings. The master bath has a vanity with twin sinks, a deep bathtub with overhead, and hand-held showers. The ¾ bath has a luxurious shower with a detachable head. Both the master bath and the half bath have ceramic tile floors. A centrally located washbasin is very convenient, especially in a time of augmented hand washing. Window blinds are in place throughout. The furnishings are pleasant and comfortable. A large flat-screen TV is provided in the family room. The flat has central A/C and heating, basement laundry with high-end machines, high-speed internet, and local TV through Xfinity Basic cable plan. Netflix and Prime Video are provided.

When you are not on the go, spend your free time either on the circular, wrap-around front porch or in the secluded, stamped concrete patio with overhead cafe lighting in the spacious and private backyard. Two private entries for the ground floor unit. Other amenities include multiple off-street parking spaces accessed from the alley with automatic privacy gates.

A Victorian charmer
We absolutely loved our stay. So close to old town. Quiet, comfortable ( especially plenty of blankets). Gas fireplace in the parlour. Fully remodeled kitchen. Highly recommend

Lovely Old Town Property
This lovely house is one of the most comfortable and well stocked properties we have experienced in Fort Collins. It is obvious that this is a cared for home and not just a rental. The thoughtful details are nearly endless. Communication was quick and efficient.

About the host

Hosted by Griffin Carpenter

Host profile image
The Jean and Wayne Carpenter family purchased the property in 1980. Wayne used it for his professional offices until 2015. After Wayne retired, the family made the decision to return the property to the duplex it had been designated prior to 1980. Ironically, the house was built in 1902 but the Carpenter family are only the third owners. We have undertaken many renovations and placed the house on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Fort Collins Local Landmarks registry. The interior woodwork was completely stripped and restored to its natural beauty. Modifications have been made to make the apartment comfortable and homey. The whole place was weatherized to make it more energy-efficient and pleasant. The roof was replaced with materials similar to the original. The brickwork has been retucked as has the stone foundation.

Why they chose this property

The property is centrally located within the Old Town area of Fort Collins and near Colorado State University, several breweries, museums, the Max transit terminal, the Bustang terminal, and a wonderful selection of restaurants and pubs. Art galleries,
Walrus Ice Cream, specialty shops, and boutique clothing stores dot the area. In summer, concerts are held in the Old Town Plaza.

What makes this property unique

Stay in a historic property while you enjoy all the amenities of Fort Collins and Colorado State University!
